Honestly, to be in Spain since Saturday and to have read the chat and seen the adverts and listened to "la remontada" bollocks all week this is the sweetest of sweet victories. But how could it be any other way when I've watched the game (apols for the main character energy here) in Mikel Arteta's home town?
I'm not greedy, but I'm so, so glad we won the leg tonight and, largely, in the way we did it. Super pleased Bukayo got the goal his first leg performance deserved, especially after the penalty save and delighted Gabi got his Thierry Henry moment at the end there. A stranger hugging moment for me.
I know we got a bit lucky with the pen being rescinded (though it never looked a pen when you saw it again), but maybe that was the universe giving this team something back.
Lads, we've just smashed the European champions. Enjoy it.
