He's got ball carrying ability which would be a really useful option at 10. That allowed Villa to hurt PSG in a way that we couldn't.

Cunha is a good player but I wonder would he look like another square peg for us. He's more AM than a ST or LW even though he can do both. We've a few too many of these tweeners though, I want players who fit the role at this stage.

I don't think that's a bad thing if we can get a striker as well. When a team's two CFs get injured, it should have someone like Cunha to turn to, rather a ball winning CM.

I also think the AM/10 role is a bigger gap in the squad than we account for. Neither Odegaard nor Nwaneri have been good enough there this season. Ethan in particular has looked better on the wing and I think using him there for the time being would be the best way to optimise balancing his development against winning games. Someone like Cunha could bench Odegaard or play with him by moving to LW or 9.

Qwiss Would make a good Jesus replacement, adds versatility across the front line. Would be a good addition, seems like a bit of a hothead though.

Pepe LeFrits if its Cunha plus a striker sure but I'd be afraid he'd be the striker and while I wouldn't turn my nose up at him I think we'd be short again if he's seen as a solution at CF.

We also don't play with an AM and I think its highly unlikely Arteta would play him there. I think any similar CAM type with decent output is very likely seen by Arteta as a CF rather than a mid.

QuincyAbeyie Last season as a striker he had 9 goals and 8 assists as a striker in 14 games, this season. This season he has 7 goals and 3 assists in 19 games. There is nothing wrong with Kai Havertz when he plays as striker for us. The ball sticks to him + gives us option to go long when we are being pressed, he has good link up play and decent pace. I would like a CF as well but none of the options presented apart from Isak don't strike me as a clear upgrade. Havertz just gets too much hate.

My point about Dembele is he has exploded now he has a proper midfield behind him and two electric wide players to the side. Also not required to have a pure CF for your attack to look fluid and lethal.

lorddulaarsenal Been coming. I don't want to sell Martinelli but I would understand on the basis of the fee he would return and the current balance and deficiencies of the squad. He's the only player we have worth over £50m we can afford to sell pretty much, and also the one whose natural game least suits Arteta's tactical approach.

So I think the clear priorities are ST + LW + DM and maybe a utility defender as Tomi can’t be relied upon from a fitness perspective. A utility midfield option also possibly needed, or nwaneri fills that role with another forward option brought in.

Zinchenko can leave with little impact and also Tomiyasu if replaced. We need to keep one of Trossard/Jesus from a numbers perspective, which means neither leaves as Jesus is injured

Qwiss to be fair we did finally learn to get some decent fees for our players after years of paying them to leave.

Watch us sell him for a decent fee and sign Huijsen with that money.

The first two transfers can be scratched off because stupid clubs did them. So from Kvara to Doue is the range. Probably £50-55m.

I'd only be interested in Cunha if he was the replacement for Trossard as a utility forward. I don't think the following is realistic, but I'd bet a lot that we win a trophy if we ended up with the following on September 1st.

I think I was probably a little conservative on the selling values so maybe we can get closer to 100m for the group. I have a hard time believing we would bring in 6 players this summer but like I said, it's probably not realistic. I would love this strategy though - addressing the CF and winger concerns with Gyokeres and Williams while bringing in two versatile, PL proven players with attacking X factors in Cunha and Eze. I'm with @CPM that unless we are signing Isak, the CF we sign will likely be rotation with Havertz and not his replacement. Williams can push Martinelli for the starting LW spot as well as provide quality rotation/depth for Saka. Cunha can play across all three spots and be an impact bench player to bring in when we need a goal. Eze can play both 8's and provide competition for Odegaard next season, as well as some individual magic that we need to get over the hump in the latter CL matches. Zubimendi takes over the 6 spot with Rice and MLS providing depth (this would be a bit of a depth concern for me but I'd rather invest in the attack this summer). We could likely get away with just bringing in one of Cunha/Eze but I love the idea of bringing in both. I'd also be fine with Mbuemo for the utility forward and Damsgaard if we need to look for a cheaper attacking oriented 8.

lorddulaarsenal flaky, but when on form he’s untouchable. Definite upgrade on Martinelli, and that’s all I want. A Cunha type plus a Leao type and I might even be cool with going into next season with just Havertz upfront again.
