1) We need to get away from this rigid thinking of first 11s. teams typically have more flexible personnel now, so players will play
2) Barcola is 5th in minutes for PSG this season, behind only Pacho, Hakimi, Vitinha, Neves.
3) He delivered 19 goals and 16 assists versus Doues 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.

None of these guys are going anywhere. As a quarter (with Kvara and Dembele), they have proved a better bet than the Messi, Mbappe, Neymar mess up

Claudius the thing about PSG is who wants loads of minutes in Ligue 1, they all want the CL minutes. That will become an issue for that front 4. Unfortunately probably not this summer but I could definitely see it next year.

Claudius I accept these points but Barcola isn't known to be overly happy at PSG, recent weeks he has been rotated a lot. In the QF and SF in the CL only started one of the games.

Qwiss and what if one of those guys goes down with injury? what is left? i understand that good players want to play maximum minutes, but all 4 of those forwards can play multiple positions, and seasons are brutal. ability to rotate these guys especially when big games pile up is an advantage they should not cede. Manchester City were the same in the Mahrez era. Lots of really good forwards sharing minutes.

JazzG I see some half-baked rumours about City and Chelsea. If he is available, then I would be happy to pay a lot. He's obviously good at scoring and creating. also a nice height at 6 foot. could be a great swing player who moves between left wing and centre forward with ease

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert just seemed a bit lost at times, and failed to impose himself.

May be a one off but something irked me.

lorddulaarsenal I have nagging doubts about him. Probably a personality thing. Gittens has a bullishness that is immediately more appealing to me. Purely bias, and I don't really know either of them that well. Just feels like Nico rides the back beat a bit.

Coming to think what we need more than a striker is a world class play maker how can hurt teams.

Let’s be honest there are no real compelling cases for forwards out there who would bring significant improvement over Havertz. Ok get an alternative for him to rotate with, but don’t bust the bank on them.

Spew loads on a bastardly good playmaker. Wirtz, Musiala, Arda Guler, Bruno Fernandes and the likes.

We need to be able to open up teams far better than we do. Martinelli and Saka would reap the rewards of having someone who is able to feed them via improvised play rather than coached tactical plays.

We need a crafty takisman

What we need more than anything is a functional team.

So much weight is placed on positions or individuals when at the heart of it we don’t have a well balanced team. We can’t lose any one individual to be replaced by his backup with out it having a significant effect on those closest.

We have a midfield of three players that solely reliant on Odegaard for creativity, solely reliant on Rice for physicality, and solely reliant on Partey for any defensive nous (ha!) at the back end of the pitch. Take any of them out, or see them struggle with form, and we are completely unable to pick up the slack. Moving players around to cover just makes things worse.

I reckon we have a terrible transfer window where Berta does a whole bunch of random-ass Mislintat-esque things, things start to unravel, some people get their wish and Arteta leaves and we regress to being about the 5th best team in the country in a few years. That is my read on the current situation.

Biggest change isn’t Stan willing to invest in players now he has a larger owenership

DiabyKungFu I'm glad I'm not the only one concerned that Berta might go a bit rogue. Doesn't seem grounded in any evidence just a sense I've had since he joined.

I wonder if he might try to overrule Arteta more than is productive.
