Where is the end product though? Each time I've seen him play, especially against us, I see someone who has occasional nice dribbles and burst of pace but I don't see a threat of an end product. Like Martinelli and Arteta's previous target Mudryk, I find him unrefined and lacking a bit of wit and artistry around the box. The kind that Saka has, the kind that Trossard had for a while in 23/24 and the kind we got used to at Arsenal for many years.
We need someone to shake up the left wing. Madueke is not different enough to Martinelli for him to be seen as an upgrade and spending a massive chunk of cash on him to be a backup for Saka and rotation option for Martinelli is frankly a waste.
To put into perspective the ridiculousness of the transfer fee, we bought Trossard a couple of years ago for £25m and that version of Trossard was a far better player than current Madueke.
