Klaus there’s a sort of arrogant assumption or sense of entitlement that whiffs around here sometimes that had we not suffered injuries last year, it would have been our year. It’s never explicitly said, but the inferences is there.
Fact of the matter is, Arteta is going into his third act and we’re yet to see silverware since he got his team/squad.
Act I - Cleaning the house. In many ways I value what Arteta did in the early days more than a trophy. He brought back standards and expectations. Gave us something to cheer about again.
Act II - The New Dawn. We went from cheering to excitement. The development of Saliba. Odegaard. Beating City to Rice. Back in the big time baby.
Act III - The payoff. Missed chances, insufficient/poor recruitment, proposed extensions for rapists. Act III now sees us in tragicomedy territory.
