Havertz missed half last season with a snapped hamstring people saw coming. It can happen again. Havertz didn't score due to confidence issues for half the season prior to that.

Two big strikers are better than one for the usual reasons. No reason 9 has to be the black hole on the depth chart. The football reasons Gyökeres at minimum competes strongly to displace Havertz from the XI are clear.

Sure run my lines past a Goldilocks Havertz 28 GA scenario that hasn't happened ... but you should see the output of Goldilocks Havertz and Goldilocks Gyökeres together.

Burnwinter I reckon we need 20 more goals next season and a bit of luck and we win the league.

If you look over the last 3 seasons, this season is probably an outlier in terms of goals scored. Last 3 seasons we have 88, 91 & 69. It isn't surprising when you consider the injuries we had this season that there has been such a massive drop. Keep the bulk of our attacking options and add 2/3 players we'll be right back to those numbers again. The extra bodies should also help with injuries, we won't need to run our players into the ground!

I think the influence Zubimendi could have is also being slept on, he'll ensure we move the ball a lot faster and more efficiently next season.

We could sign peak Henry, Kaka, R9 and Pele and Madonna. But if they all get injured for the second half of the season we're not going to win anything.

The guys we have got great numbers considering they were out lots.

Havertz, saka, ode and martinelli are all super robust only jesus is injury prone. But we could sign 5 top alternatives but theirs no reason to think the new group would be more robust on the whole.

Obviously Jesus needs to go and if rumours are to be believed we wouldn't mind selling martinelli to fund Rodrygo. But we'll have 2 players for each position all being well.

Marti/Rodrygo and trossard, havertz +sesko/Gok, saka / Nwaneri

Nwaneri is unreal on the ball, really poor off the ball. He's 18 it's normal not to have a rounded experienced pros game. But I don't really want anyone signed ahead of him.

Klaus There is no Erling Haaland on the market. Viktor Gyökeres might prove to be a very useful player but the second coming of Thierry Henry he is not. It is exceedingly unlikely we have a 20-goal scorer in the team next season.

But that is no reason to be so angry and downbeat. We have a lot of players who can contribute goals, and we are the best set-piece team in Europe. If we add two forwards, get peak Ødegaard back, and do a better job of rotation to keep our players fresh, we can absolutely win the PL or CL. I don’t get the pessimism. We had the absolute season from hell last year with injuries and referees and still finished 2nd and got to the CL SFs, beating Madrid home and away in the process!

CPM Viktor Gyökeres might prove to be a very useful player but the second coming of Thierry Henry he is not.

I'd settle for the second coming of Erling Haaland.

I meant in terms of signings. Obviously titles/ trophies are the end game. What/who gets us there?

USArsenal also this is a misrepresentation as well because we scored a lot of goals but we had loads against weak teams and quite a few where we struggled so that's a distortion as well. We don't have enough consistent goals in the team now and that's the problem.

But we went 16-1-1 in that time, so its not really a misrepresentation. And we scored goals against time reputable teams too. 3 v Pool, 5 v Chelsea, 3 v Tottenham, 4 v Newcastle....

This past season, we were inconsistent, for sure. but that was down to injuries more than anything else.

CPM — Eze makes sense because he could certainly handle Odegaards job, or Rice’s (at right 8) if we’re chasing a goal/game.

PSV’s Saibari is the other name I keep throwing out for Odegaard cover.

USArsenal but over the full season that year we blanked too many games I think compared to teams that have one the title. Scoring 5 or 6 in some games makes it look like there are more goals in the team then there are when we face tougher defences.

But to be fair to him theirs very little support around him offering him options. And nobody is moving to help create any space for him by pulling players away

Speedster To be fair superior players in Mbappe, Vini Jr, Bellingham etc all stunk the place out as well.

One thing I worry about with him is he doesn’t seem to handle strong physical contact that well, he’ll be getting a lot of that in this league.

His game against us at the Emirates is definitely not the compilation to watch to see the best of him. Lol.

Speedster we don’t have particularly good , or quite often any, movement, ahead of the ball. Too many wanting ball to feet and not wanting to find space or run into it. Martinelli can do it a bit where the games more often, but I don’t think he’s got the nous to find the space in congested games even if willing. Havertz can be good, as can Merino b it neither appear to be nailed on starters next season. In general we don’t have enough players looking to get into awkward spaces for defences.

To be fair he looks to be technically top drawer. Extremely clean first touch and tight ball control. Definitely wonder about his physicality though.

Yea but he's not putting any of it to any use. He's not creating any kind of threat, he's super ineffective in all his play. I get that's its a tricky day at the office for him.

Also, feels like we need an overlapping LB to get the best out of him vs our current tactics of the LB moving into MF and the LWF holding the width. Thankfully it feels like both MLS and Calafiori can potentially go wide and support Rodrygo down the outside and have the skills to do so, but not sure how Arteta will plan the combinations on that side of the pitch as the team's movements will need some rejig. Also, the big question of whether he actually wants to be here or not still looms.

Speedster that's why I have my reservations. He's not going to be that one man wrecking machine the likes of Alexis could be, and this team badly needs that.
