@MistaT I am starting to get dubious of Sesko as well. His ball striking and movement are great but I really worry about his personality - he doesn't seem to really have that alpha side of him that a lot of great strikers have. I was hoping to see some big development this year with him staying at Leipzig but he seems to have just continued what he was doing last year - scoring a decent amount of goals but not really taking on additional responsibility in terms of leading the attack. He also just strikes me as one of those tall, stiff strikers even though he shows some impressive technique and foot skills. Ekitike and Isak seem to be much more agile and smooth and Gyokeres seems to be somewhere in the middle of the 4 of them.

I also am concerned with the lack of shot volume that Sesko has. Dominant 9's need to be selfish to some extent and Sesko's shot numbers are very similar to Havertz's, which is a little alarming due to how Havertz plays. I'd want someone who shoots a lot more than Havertz as our rotation at the 9.

Not really seeing a whole lot besides a wicked shot, and some good drive for counter attacking.

I'm being facetious but we're likely to be spending £60/70m+ so probably won't buy another striker for a few years. Given that, I think it's worth trying to think clearly about (a) who is best placed to fill gaps in our team and (b) who has potential re-sale value.

Qwiss My point is more we should pursue other options first, if we can't get any of them then we should look at players like him. _£60m isn't cheap though.

MistaT He is 21 years old, electric pace and good power. There are however risks with him as well, other parts of his game look a bit raw and need improvement. He is however 4/5 years off his peak so there is a potential upside there. I do agree Ekitike is a very interesting player. Isak along with Sesko and Ekitike should be top of our list

Qwiss gyokeres plus Nico is a big upgrade on what is happening right now. I also worry about waiting for unicorns

Serious question but other than being strong and having a good shooting technique, what else am I missing with Gyokeres? Appreciate those attributes alone aren't to be sniffed at but I find him such an uninspiring player. Is this really what the striker market is today? Like I don't even think his shooting is particularly precise. And he doesn't seem to have much in the way of skill on the ball. I really want someone who can play through a low block, can create something out of nothing and I just don't see that with Gyokeres. I don't think he solves enough of our issues in the attacking third.

Don Pacifico In fairness, you could say the same thing about Haaland. I don't know how many current strikers or pure 9's out there really have too much ability to create something out of nothing. I would say Isak, Mbappe, maybe Ekitike but he's nowhere near the finisher of those two. I am probably missing players there but I think those skill sets are more of a unicorn skill set these days.

samthegooner I've always thought of Haaland as a more precise finisher, who also has a greater range of shot selection. Gyokeres seems to just hammer it but I'm sure there are stats that prove me wrong!

Gyokeres would net a lot for us due to his directness, and immense work rate.

Think I’d rather go for Delap though, who could really take off with us.

I'm firmly on the Eketike bandwagon. Would prefer him to Sesko or Delap.

If we're going for more experience, then I'd prefer Cunha to Gyokeres.

If we're going all the way, Isak over all of course.

I'd be happy with any forward out of the group of Isak, Sesko, Ekitike, Gyokeres. I'd be happy with any winger out of the group of Barcola, Williams, Semenyo.

I keep changing my mind, which my post history would definitely reflect, but I think my current preference (assuming Isak is not an option due to cost/Newcastle not selling) is:

Ekitike (£60-£70m)
Williams (£50-£60m)
Zubimendi (£55-£65m)
Garcia (£20-£25m)
Nypan (£10-£20m)
Total: £195m - £240m (I think I'm being pretty conservative on these fees and ideally we'd be on the lower end before wages come into play)

Personally, I think we should sell Trossard this summer as well and if we did, I'd look to bring in another winger/versatile attacker like Semenyo or Cunha for £60-£70m. That would be an ideal summer and probably at the top end of what we would ever think about spending this window.

MistaT Ekitike is just so much more compelling than Sesko. Finally got around to watching him some more and I'm genuinely excited about him whether he comes to Arsenal or not.

MistaT I'd go with Ekitike and Semenyo. Semenyo and Nico are pretty interchangeable for me - I have a slight preference for Nico since I think his 1v1 ceiling is higher but love both. I like Ekitike more than Sesko now though.

The French produce a great striker every generation. We should be looking for the next in line after Mbappe.

Cant say any of these guys except Isak really do it for me. This team will be in its prime for the next few years and would prefer to minimize the amount of projects we add upfront. We need a genuine World Class player to come in.... and while I wouldn't say not to either Sesko or Ekitike if no better options are available, would much rather we blew the attacking budget mainly on one player and take a punt on the other.

IF we have say 150m to spend on 2 attackers give me 120/30 split rather than 80/70... and if we are genuinely interested in Isak and willing to spend 130/140m on him, that kind of money gets you players the are not available as well and we should definitely explore that.
