Spurs with a £70m bid for Guehi

I'm surprised City haven't bought a midfielder. They have no legs in midfield.
I hope Marmoush, Khusanov and this guy turn out to be the start of the end of City's dominance. It's going to be incredibly hard to replace the De Bruyne, Silva, Bilva, Gundogan, Foden quintet they had.
According to the Guardian live blog, Zinchenko's off to Spain, probably to Atleti. That'd be a good result.
Before people freak out about that comment by Mattinson, he also went on to explain how Zubimendi is a much better fit for us since we already have Rice, who is a better version of Gonzalez. But for a lot of teams, Gonzalez fits the bill better since there simply are not a lot of players in the Rice profile out there and I’d argue, none that do it as well as Declan when he’s fit as we saw yesterday.
On a side note, I love Mattinson’s content. I hope he moves over to Blue Sky soon. He’s a Gooner but is really keyed into the international prospect market, especially in South America, and I love his eye for talent. His threads have helped me figure out a bunch of potential targets and directed me to watch some matches I otherwise would never have had interest in. Highly recommend Ben.
There are a couple of rumors from a few “ITK’s” out there on Twitter that we are working quietly on a big deal (Ozil level) that we are hoping to get in. It seems like it’s not a target we have discussed before. One of these accounts has said he’ll reveal who it is if we don’t get it done so hopefully we will know for better or worse today.
Anyone have any guesses? I feel like the obvious answer is Nico Williams but I wonder if we are trying to swing for the fences with Barcola…
samthegooner Here is what one of those 'ITK' thinks.
My money is on us signing nobody or maybe best case Tel.
Yep just saw that after I posted. He’s generally reliable at least in passing along what he’s heard from sources so I’m sure we are trying for it. Would be quite the coup at this point even if Nico hasn’t had the season we hoped for up to this point. I still believe in his talent 100%. Get it done Mikel!

With Williams the deal is straight forward in terms of dealing with the club, they want full release clause paid and probably will not allow any other structured payments. We can either cough up the cash or get a loan to cover that.
The problem is the player, we won't bring him in on £300k wages which is supposedly what he wants and he had his heart set on joining Barca. If these rumours are true then it is a no brainer, we will pay release clause so not like paying an extra premium and comes down to salary.
Who is going to give him £300k a week?! Certainly not Barca
So looking at forward/AM options we will have Trossard/Sterling/Havertz/Martinelli/Nwaneri Odegaard until Saka returns. 6 players for 4 positions. If 1 goes down we back to 1 attacking option on the bench.
Even with our lighter schedule coming up sounds like we gambling on fitness again.
Didnt ManU also want Tel on loan? Bayern seems to be hoping for a late Villa bid once we sign Watkins... (hehe).

Why are Bayern so desperate to get rid of Tel? Surely, he has enough potential to not be averse to him returning and having another crack at it if we don't exercise the option?
