  • Newcastle United vs. Arsenal - 2/11/2024 - 12.30pm UK time

Haven't seen a thread for this and so thought I'd get one going.

Newcastle have some key players out injured and are winless in their last 5 in the league, including their last two at home.

Hopefully Arteta doesn't go for the grindball midfield of Rice-Partey-Merino but it's likely he will, especially on the road.

We should be expecting to win this and frankly, need to be if we're serious about staying in this title race.

Hopefully some minutes for young Ethan Nwaneri, too!

set pieces and inshallah for just a couple more weeks

what's the back four looking like? sounds like gabby and timber should be ok, and wilo is back. who do we have at left back?

blanco seems to be a strong maybe

Ben White filled in for William in our 2-2 draw against the Reds last Sunday but also missed the Preston cup clash on Wednesday with Mikel admitting he’s struggling with a fresh issue rather than the groin injury that saw him miss action last month.
That means Ben could join Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Odegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney on the sidelines, which disappoints Mikel as he was delighted with his display in the heart of our backline last week at Emirates Stadium.
"Riccardo and Martin are out definitely. With Ben, we don’t know yet. He hasn’t trained yet. He could not train, he could not get involved, so let’s wait and see if he’s available. This is related more to a joint.

Tomyiasu and Odegaard were in training, probably to early for them ? But for sure next week they should be fine.
White will be fine, I'm sure, and with Gabriel back and Timber back our back 4 is not an issue anymore. In the middle, I just don't want that flat 3, not a big fan of Trossard in that Odegaard role but it's still better then the death midfield we tried vs Bournemouth.

Feels like we have not played so early in a long long time.

Newcastle will have a flat 3, Bruno Tonali and Joelinton/Longstaff. Not sure we should go h2h with them or do a different formation.

At home they are high pressing and high energy. Brighton played a defensive 442 and beat them on the counter. Other than that they haven't lost at home and won against Spuds and Chelsea, drew against Citeh.

Won't be an easy match for sure

      HomeSteak

Tomi all he does is train, play 1 game, gets injured, train and rinse and repeat.

They used to say Ozil stole a living….

P.S: Fuck Newcastle, I hope we remember how we got fucked over last season. I want fucking revenge!

Sicario2 - Tier 1 Tomi all he does is train, play 1 game, gets injured, train and rinse and repeat.

You forgot the part where he goes to play a game for Japan. And then gets injured

Bench: Neto, White, Zinny, MLS, Kiwior, Jorginho, Nwaneri, Sterling, Jesus

Strongest bench we’ve had this season?

            flobaba 😆

if it was ever needed, I thought the "world class" debate was ended after 8 minutes last Sunday...

Come on Arsenal! Missing this as have a birthday but hope we win. It's needed to get back on track.

Will be spicy as always. The dark arts face off loll. No red cards please.
