Even though Sterling can play on the right he's always looked most dangerous on the left coming in. He should fancy himself try and break into that position, whether he will is a different story.

This window is interesting due to the profile of the players brought in. Merino and Sterling buck the trend from recent windows and add a lot of experience in terms of age and in winning big. Sterling’s experience might prove useful higher up the pitch in the run in.

I think so too as well, remember in his first season at Chelsea he changed his diet and said he felt like he lost all his power. Last season he started the season really brightly and I see a player who hasn't declined and I hope he is hungry to prove people wrong. He's lost his place in the Chelsea team and the England team, now is the time to prove people wrong.

He has a habit of cocking up easy chances but he also can be like a demon when he wants to.

Start Sterling, Havertz and Saka. That gives us a great combination of passing, scoring, pressing and movement. And then Trossard and Martinelli can typically be the subs.

Claudius based on what I saw at Chelsea, he's very capable of earning a start at LW. would love to see what him, merino and calafiori can do on that left channel. potential for some really smart link up play there

I had exactly the same thought, wouldn't surprise me at all.

Would never have wishlisted him but an attacking player was a must so I'm happy he's here. He will score goals regardless of how successful the loan move ends up being overall and Saka might actually get a rest at some point too. Good stuff.

Lukazan Especially given that Chelsea are paying most of his wages. Brilliant deal really.

Never liked him before, but could never deny his quality. I'm getting a feeling he's going to grow on me this season.

His finishing is not great. That's about the only criticism I have of him.

TambourineMan i think Saka's finishing is pretty good. Not as good as Trossard but comfortably more consistent than the others.

Finishing is an issue but its less of an issue than not getting chances at all. The difference between Sterling missing a few and Nelson being a passenger will be night and day. I just hope Sterling is hungry for goals, we need more players who want to get their shots in.

Showed some glimpses today but an average match overall. Physically I think isn't up to speed yet so important for him to get some good minutes in today

For me I wasn't a great fan of the signing and today was the kind of reason as this was the Sterling that I saw in much of last season. Too many touches and pretty erratic with his level.

awooga83 pretty much this. There's a reason Chelsea are paying him to be here. I get that he's a backup and all going well won't be starting the biggest games but all PL points are precious and hard to come by, even against the bottom team at home. Goal line tap ins against League 1 opposition are all well and good but if you're starting PL games you need to be able to contribute something. Just don't think he wants to be here either.
