Three fucking away fixtures in a row including Europe with one of the games on Thursday and the other two against our PL rivals and local rivals.

In November it's the same thing. 3 away fixtures in a row including Newcastle away, Chelsea away and Inter away. On the bright side we aren't playing on a Thursday that week 😂

Qwiss we should do enough to get into top 16. I think we have more to lose in dropping points in the league than in the champions league. We will get two more champions league games later, but let’s deal with it then if we must.

Claudius yeah I actually think we'll get top 16 very easily and I'd be tempted to target that rather than stretching ourselves pushing extra hard for top 8.

Qwiss true, but iirc 16th faces 8th, 15th faces 9th etc so we would want to avoid a difficult tie there as well.

I think that's what I meant about the new format it should be very safe for the big teams to get the top 16 and your still in the champions League even with an extra game so pick that and manage the other games to cope with domestic fixtures. Top 8 would be very nice but it's not essential.

problem is you need to be near perfect to finish in the top 8. So we need to go out and smash Atalanta etc, while also dealing with City and others in the league. I’d rather take the chance

The top 8 will also be so tight due to the fact that they will all finish on similar points. So it’s not clear who other than Man City (easy draw) will actually place well.

Pulisic puts Milan ahead after 3 minutes against Liverpool. Really hope they have a shitty first half of the season, are out of the title race by December and struggle in the UCL. None of Salah, Van Dijk and Trent signed a new contract and preferred to run their contracts down, presumably to see the club's direction after Klopp.
The shittier the season, the higher the leverage of the players in their negotiations. Eventually I think Salah leaves and Van Dijk stays, but Trent is the big one, and the course of the season may prove decisive. Losing him on a free to Real would hurt them big time.

As well as Havertz is doing we should be going for this guy in Jan if we want to win the league/CL THIS season

Looks like an out and out killer that lives and breathes for goals. Someone like this in our team can get close to Haaland figures I’m sure.

Just heard on the Milan game in the commentary based on simulations of outcomes they suggest that 16 points should be enough to get you into the top 8 and 10 points to get to the top 16.

More like 4 wins and 4 draws or 5 wins and 1 draw. Definitely doable.

5 wins and a draw based on that model. So looking at our fixtures Shakhtar, Sporting, Dynamo, Girona and Monaco should be winnable and then another point somewhere which given our strength in defence is doable.
