The what they expect vs what we expect argument is a real crawl down from where this began. The reality is Arsenal are in a better position than Spurs and its not close. Spurs would die to be in the position we are in going into next season.

They made history this season. And by that I mean they are the first team with so few points to manage to avoid relegation.

He does raise an important point which should help calm him and anyone else worried by Spurs. If Arsenal came off a 22 loss season like Spurs, I would celebrate qualification into the champions league and a UEFA cup trophy. It would be a great relief. And their fans deserve to feel joy. Why else follow the game if you aren’t going to celebrate shit?

But we can’t look at their singing and dancing fans and think that’s a black mark against us when we’ve built a machine that’s finished 2nd three years in a row and each season does better in champions league. what will make us all happens a premier league or champs league now. Not uefa because we past that shit

invisibleman18 there’s no celebration police. Just ex players and fans in punditry who grew up hating us. It’s not just the celebration police stuff, it’s all the crap about Arteta being out of his box, dark arts etc. It’s an insidious problem that’s hard to get around because non Arsenal fans don’t have sufficient exposure to perceive it.

Claudius yeah I've been listening to end of season podcasts and they've been bugging up Chelsea for having a great season but criticising us. Somehow money never gets mentioned for Chelsea any more it's ludicrous.

I think part of it is people's varying expectations that suit their agenda.

Arsenal - don't win trophy - but they're a big club - mock them for failure.
Arsenal - celebrate relative successes - they must be small time - mock for celebrating.

You can pick from either column depending on the circumstances.
