Calafiori is a centre back actually. Both our fullbacks are. So it’s not a surprise he does well there.
Sicario2 our centre backs see more of the ball than left backs. Being central and deeper offers better opportunities to realise the ball earlier and also to seek wingers in more space and have them receive the ball at a better angle
