Qwiss pretty much this. Nice to have a headache in choosing from a group of quality players. The genuine starting 11 6 months from now must include this guy and white on the left and right and the usual suspects at CB. We now have a group of players that could play right across the defensive line in case of injuries and fatigue. We wouldn't lose much with the subs
I think everyone is hitting it right on the head with what this does for us. Now we have a group of 6-7 genuine first team quality defenders that could start for a EPL title contending team and we can rotate up to 3 of them without suffering much decline at all on the field. This is how you go for 90+ points.
our defensive record last season owed alot to wilo, blanco and big gab rarely being injured. factoring tomis luck with injuries, we are far less exposed now

Nice - not on massive wages either
Mirth Nice - not on massive wages either
I think you must be misreading that. Generally "net" means post-tax. Assuming a 50% tax rate, that's £130000 per week for a guy who played in Switzerland at the start of last season. He looks talented and I think it's more likely that he works out than he doesn't work out. However, if he doesn't work out, then we're going to find it really really difficult to get rid of him on those wages. He doesn't have an amazing track record or pedigree so if he doesn't work out then it'll be easy to dismiss him as a case of Bologna catching lightning in a bottle.
Mirth not for a first team Arsenal player. Seems a decent deal.
Did not know he spoke English this well?
DiabyKungFu it'll be closer to about 44%, but your point is still valid. I just looked up the UK tax rates - 40% from 50k to 125k p.a then 45% for anything over 125k sterling. That's some fairly high tax considering the Tories have ripped the guts out of services.
Yeah I missed the net at the end. That's a fair chunk of change.
Big wage indeed but we've had a good track record recently with big money signings so I have faith the team have done their diligence and found another gun.
£130k per week is a high estimate but still not that big a wage for a starter. According to the list below that would make Calafiori roughly the twentieth highest earning defender in the league.

Looks like Saliba, White and Zinchenko are all on substantially more.
Calafiori's gotta earn his spot to justify the package, that's all really.

Gazza M what tune is this?
That’s it Gazza!
The Calafiori song to the tune of "That's Amore" by Dean Martin is the one for me.
🎶When he, plays at the back, he will stop your attack, Calafiori,
he chose Red over blue, plays for Mik and Edu, Calafiori.🎶
That’s swell too
