Think I was saying just that last summer. He's a really good player, just notwhat I think we needed in a 6 considering how we set our team up in 22/23. Think over the course of the season that was shown to be true but in that hybrid 8/6 role he has a role so long as we can get a deep lying playmaker who can keep us on the front foot.

Merino is realistic but other than Neto can't think of any other wingers we are linked with and is a difference maker enough to get excited with

I think we just have to try for Williams and Zubi if we really want them. Just offer the release clause and force to them to make a choice. Fine, they love their Basque clubs and stay, then it is what it is.

They think he's like Zubi and wouldn't leave his home boyhood club that has his brother. Meanwhile, I saw Barca wanting to buy Dani Olmo, how in the world do they have the money?

I agree with Dules on Eze. Would be a good addition to the squad and make us less reliant on Ode. But Palace sold Olise this summer so it won't be Eze...

eze is quality - had a good picture in his mind of how attacks will unfold. Is powerful can carry the ball, scores a decent amount and is versatile

I am pretty confident that Arteta has made it very apparent to both Zubimendi and Williams that we would pay whatever we would need to in order to get them here but unfortunately, they just appear to not want to leave Spain. It is what it is but I agree with @Burnwinter that a lineup with both of them would be absolutely incredible. I do feel like we are waiting for Nico to officially move to Barca before we move on to our next target since we know how dodgy Barca's finances are but Merino looks to be the Zubimendi pivot even if they aren't apples to apples players.

Ideally we bring in Merino and then focus on a winger, while also keeping our powder dry at the end of the window just in case a market opportunity presented itself like Guimaraes or one of Madrid's midfielders feels on the fringe... I will say that it is a tad disappointing we aren't involved with the Desire Doue bidding. The price is pretty high for an 18 year old but he looks like quite the prospect and has the versatility to play 8 and on the wing.

Clrnc Duncan posts what Mendes wants him to post. Yesterday The Athletic posted the sensible transfer shit blog they do, and at the top of the list was Ruiz and today he drops this. He might know something even if he is not usually reliable. I'm saying this because, while not his agent, Mendes took Ruiz to PSG and now he is working on flushing PSG of more money with Joao Neves.

But we have to move out a midfield? Who? We have 3 lol. Rice, Jorginho who is not that good and old and Partey who will be out for at least 6 months and is shit and a cunt. Who the fuck are we moving out? If we move 1 out we need 2 in.
