Clrnc yeah, think this could be it but may depend on how invested we are in Sesko. As @Panda says, we coule just reallocate the funds elsewhere in the forward line and keep our powder dry to pay the release clause next summer (or whatever).

My sense given links over the last 6 months is that Sesko was not the out-and-out #1 choice however, so let's see what happens.

Qwiss Sounds like he has concerns about playing time which is why he has chosen to stay.

Central Midfielder, Wide player and CB. That should be our priority this window. Assuming we sell Eddie that leaves us with Havertz + Jesus as our CFs, I think those options are good enough for now.

Additional players depending on who we can move on and depending on how much we get. I'd like us to sign another CM someone like Onana would be ideal but for a cheaper option even Fofana.

If we are signing a project imo he has to be Number one. I don't know what Brighton would want for him but something about him.

So listening to Arseblog pod, Gunnerblog seems to think we won't go in for a Sesko alternative and we'll allocate funds elsewhere. He positions it as us seeing a cost-effective opportunity with Sesko's release clause (but that door has obviously now closed).

flobaba feels like we may have been played a bit by his agent. It happens. Plenty of time to move on and find an alternative solution (which I'm sure we've already lined up).

already getting bad vibes for this summer. not a great start.

mdgoonah41 not landing our first choice hasn't been an issue to date. Don't think there's anything to be concerned about at this stage.

mdgoonah41 I honestly couldn't give a shit about this. He looks a decent player but he's got loads to prove and wasn't going to come in here and be starting straight away. Its over nice and quick and we've plenty of time to get someone else.

Other than that no one has really done any business yet this summer so its not like we are falling behind. If we haven't got a couple of big players by August I'll start to worry.

I had bad feeling about Sesko as soon as I read 'he's weighing up his options' - usually an ominous sign. Very different to persistent updates we heard about Rice or Kai being desperate to join us here,

As long as we didn't lose Sesko to another club, it doesn't bother me as much. We can still go in for him next summer if he really kicks on. I feel like we should just focus on bringing in a world class winger and central midfielder this summer and wait to see which strikers are available next summer. Between Havertz, Jesus, Trossard and maybe Martinelli, we should have enough cover at 9, especially if we can add a dynamic winger to add more goals.
