it's bollocks honestly. If we win everything from this point on, pointing out losing to Villa when we were on our run is the equivalent of saying "you didn't win 42 out of 42pts, you're not good enough" which is nuts.

Some people will say the dropped points early on vs West ham and Fulham but for me I think if we didn't win the title I will look back at Villa. Because by that time we already know what we needed to do to win the title.

Teams don’t typically run at an insane 2.5 point pace all season. They ebb and flow. Other than city, nobody ever runs at a crazy pace all season. Even Liverpool, the season they won, went on a crazy pace until around round 25 and then slowed down

Do you honestly think anyone here holds the club to higher standards than our manager does? Look at what he's done since coming in, it's all been about raising the standards so that Arsenal are where Arteta knows we should be.

While I completely believe that the current state of the EPL is ridiculous due to the influx of oil money and state-owned clubs, we have been right there the last two years with a sustainable model that is going to allow us to continue to grow and improve. We can complain all we want about how it's gotten here but the truth of the matter is that we have managed to now position ourselves as legitimate contenders year in and year out and now we need to just push over the hump, even if it is meeting a ridiculous standard that hasn't been there in decades past. We can and will do this either this year or next and I am pretty convinced of that.

Claudius we shouldn't compare ourselves to Chelsea and Spurs, they aren't big clubs. United and Liverpool are where the comparisons should be made. Same goes for City, small club with fake status and we can't compare ourselves to that.

We are where we should be right now. Arteta has done a great job. Just needs to win some big trophies now to write his name in the history books.

Burnwinter I actually can’t take Ange seriously. He’s giving De Zerbi energy. What sets the top 3 managers apart is that they look for continuous improvement in all aspects of the game. It’s the only way to keep delivering above 85 points. So Arsenal have set the record for set piece goals. Liverpool revolutionised pressing in England. City keeps adapting - no strikers, inverting fullbacks, 4 centre backs, etc.

Ange didn’t prepare anything for Arsenal last week. He didn’t get a good defender on Saka, he didn’t coach set pieces and put a man on White. He just chose to play his normal game. He said he doesn’t even want a set piece coach, yet they’re getting hammered on dead balls. Those are the signs that he won’t reach our level consistently

Claudius We'll see. After all, his record demonstrates he's adaptable. A solid majority of online Spurs fans were complaining about the set piece defending from what I saw after the derby, so a bigger concern might be the mounting pressure on Levy … who has no track record of resistance.

Again, though, it's clear this season was viewed as a "free hit" both inside and outside the organisation … next season if they don't consolidate and contend, it'll be more like the gauntlet Arteta was running in late 2020.

Not sure how much we prepared for our opponents in 20/21 (Arteta's first season). If we did, it certainly didn't work.

Then again, I guess judging other teams more irrationally than your own is a fan's privilege.

QuincyAbeyie in fairness, Spurs have a lot of issue to solve. Refining things like set pieces is for guys who want to win tittles. Right now they need to improve their squad quality and overall play.
