I won't complain if we get either, but I hope we are looking at a higher calibre like Kvarat
Eze is massively overrated, and for someone in his prime not that great.
Olise I can't make my mind up on, sometimes looks like he's got loads of potential, but at other moments looks pretty basic.
Can't see either moving the needle at all.
They'll probably end up at a Spurs/Villa/Newcastle level club.
For £60m I'd rather take a punt on Neto.
Surprised at how low Eze and Olise are rated here. They have been a revelation since Glasner took over and has taken the handbrake off. I think they are both awesome and would be great squad players/potential starters in our side and would add so much to our ability to break down low blocks in particular.
I'm definitely interested in Eze as an 8 in our system and think if we got him we should play him as the right 8 and move Odegaard to the left 8 where he can use his left foot to play more balls like he did to Havertz for the first goal against Chelsea. Eze would be the runner from the midfield that we have needed to free up Saka more with underlaps and overlaps. Personally, I like that outcome more than signing Bruno.
Olise would be a great option on both wings and even in the midfield if we need to turn the screw. He's also an output monster which is something we need more of in the team.
I would be happy with either or both but still feel like adding more pace to our wings this summer is a necessity to have a transition threat in addition to Martinelli for Europe and another option in the league.
Neto seems like he'd be pretty much guaranteed to be a success if he stays fit. Then again he's not often stayed fit lately. Haven't followed the injuries enough to know if they're freak accidents or if he's injury prone - or if freak accidents have now made him injury prone.
QuincyAbeyie His long term injuries were an ankle injury (October 2022 - February 2023) and a knee injury (April 2021 - February 2022) which I believe was his ACL. However, he has missed 20 games this season with two separate hamstring injuries (including the current one sidelining him), which does really worry me. Honestly, if we could guarantee him being healthy for 80+% of the season, he would be my runaway pick for winger this summer. But the injuries are very concerning.
don't sign injury prone players. it's bad luck when they become injury prone on your watch, it's negligence when you go out and sign them.
@Claudius The people responsible for signings should definitely do a deeper analysis than just whether a player has been injured though. If they just filter out players who have been injured from their search like some intern it would be very questionable. I'd hope they look at what kind of injuries they are and whether they're a good predictor of future injuries.
