Looking at that … I wonder what they've got. Looks like maybe they've got a game state reader from video or GPS data ("spatiotemporal transformer"), and a game state classifier ("state valuation"), with the classifiable game states mapped to a coarser-grained and probably artisanal domain model of widely understood terminology ("structured football concepts").

Then they chuck their classified and mapped "structured football concepts" about the current "state" into a bunch of agentic bullshit that tries to imagine what "action" comes next in terms of a finite game logic of some kind, with some method of evaluating the options.

Then they compare the best of these predictions to whatever actually happened …
