As a non-Brit this has me curious. The term "just about" seems to have evolved, particularly in listening to British football media.
I use the term "just about" to mean "nearly, but not quite" as in "I've just about had enough of you" or "the game is just about to start".
I hear more and more commentators and media people now use it to mean "just". As in, "the ball just squeaked over the line". When I hear a commentator say "his shot just about snuck in" I get confused - does that mean it nearly went in, or does it mean it went in. More and more it means it went in.
The addition of "about" seems superfluous, but that's what language does I guess, it changes.
I am definitely getting old.
