Was a good performance but thought our wide players weren't on it, Saka got better towards the end but overall the wide players need to be much more decisive than they were. Martinelli in particular was very poor I thought.
Defensively we were on the whole solid and resolute, CBs were both awesome especially Saliba. Salah had Zinchenko on toast but then again Salah has twisted far better defenders inside out. Tomi in this game would have been ideal, think he would have marked him out of the game. That goal he scored was such bad defending by Zinchenko, injuries meant he had to play but against top sides he does not start when we have our players fit.
We had a ropey start of the 2nd half but much of that game we were in control. Last 20 mins says a lot about this team, we were the ones trying to win the game and looked in control and the more likely to score. Last season we were clinging on for dear life in the last 20 minutes. A few years ago we would watch other teams in these high level matches, today our team was in it and the Liverpool team and fans are thinking phew thank god we've got that out of the way. That is how far we have come as a club
