Some players keep it too simple when they’re off form (Havertz, ESR, Ode), Martinelli and Trossard both just hold on to the ball like they’ll never get it back if they let go.

Needs to learn to pass and move if he can’t take his man on.

A few players were exposed.
Zinchenko obviously. Jesus to me was clear. Kai was way too passive and didn't cover well I thought. Odegaard definitely wasn't as sharp.

Marti was bad but he kept rolling. Same with Saka. Might be harsh on Odegaard but he should be better.

I'd argue White was just average, did nothing too

Fair result on the night. We limited Liverpool at home to few openings, let alone chances. That's honestly not something to be indifferent too. We are a top team for sure, even if boring most of the time. Everyone worked really hard. Not sure Odegaard is maximized in a role that forces him to drop deep. I find Saka'a game concerning.

AAStyle agree I think we'll be in that top bracket but to win titles on the last 5 or so seasons you need to be ruthless as City have made there little room for error. High points tallies which means you need to win a lot of games and that's when goals are going to trump defence. I don't want us to be at the end of the season and looking back saying if we could have done this. We've learnt the lesson from city last season the hard way you have to up your game or you will be hoping City mess up. They set the level you can't say at don't know what is needed.

WE need to get out of that mentality? that's not a mentality, it's facts. when have they lost a close title race in the past 5 years? liverpool's own came when they blew everyone away. when it's close city wins. it's not the fans that are going to be feeling the pressure if city is the one chasing us, it'll be the players.

It’s a myth. They won the title by a point or two in a few of those seasons which means Liverpool went on those runs too and it literally swung on a game or a goal.

We had a 50 point start to last season.

Like I said, it’s just what’s required to win the league.
