JazzG definitely felt like we might, not necessarily that we would. Chelsea definitely wilted a bit once we got back into the game and Eddie went close at 2-2. That said, as I said to Jo with 2 mins left, I was happy to take the draw.

RocktheCasbah that was great by Eddie, very unlucky. Jesus is a better player all round but I like that Eddie is different, we needed that focal point yesterday, Jesus gets back a lot, which on certain days is great but on others it works against us. Arteta just needs to know when that switch is needed.

Clrnc they're always wasteful though. Yesterday they just got lucky with the penalty and the Mudryk cross. I don't seen their wastefulness as a blip.

What Jesus normally offers over Eddie is offering himself up for combinations with the wide men, whether it be Saka or Martinelli. He wasn't really doing that yesterday and I'm not sure why. What Eddie offers is runs down the channels and that's great when you're having to go more direct.

I actually think Havertz and Eddie could be a good option for when we're not on it and need to go direct. Together with Trossard and ESR we've got some really good options off the bench to help change games and I'm glad we're finally utilising them.

The ref was terrible. I don't have a problem with the penalty - if it was the other way I'd absolutely want it given. But the way he let Cucurella foul Saka constantly in the first 10 minutes set the expectations for the rest of the game. Good refs are not ones who get all the big decisions right - no one does. Good refs are ones who don't listen to the home crowd on the niggles.

This said, we were poor, and poor at the things we're usually good at. Maintaining possession and pressing. Chelsea will finish the year outside the European places again IMO.

RowJimmy agree on the reffing. Penalty didn't bother me, it was how inconsistent he was with tackles and cards, it was like he'd 2 different sets of rules, one for them and one for us.

That 2 footed tackle by Thiago Silva wasn't talked about enough too. That was a shocker.

I honestly blame the rain. It started raining badly v Fulham and we fucked up there. Pretty sure it rained when we drew 3-3 with Southampton and when Everton got that last min winner v us in 2021.

When it’s sunny, in conditions we like and a team that we have had good planning and preparation for we are usually good (see City at home this season).

Too bad we're an English team that will probably play more than a third of our games in the rain. Conservatively speaking less than 20% of our games will take place in sunny conditions.

JazzG both Thiago Silva and Robert Sanchez are committing fouls here, the bias is just infuriating. Bullshit result has us waving our fists at the sky and pitch. Edit: what Big Willie said
Tell me if I'm overreacting but on another day Sanchez gives the opposing player a concussion or sprained/dislocated shoulder.
Chelsea at least sucked points from Liverpool at the Bridge, and surely they'll gel and improve as the season goes on. So here's hoping they hold back a few others.

Saka didn't play at his best here but still provided a massive assist. Seems to be a lot of talk about his poor form but the star boy has 5 goals and 5 assists already this season and we haven't even hit our stride.

JazzG I'm convinced there is a strong sub conscious or conscious bias against us. This sort of thing happens too frequently for it not to be the case. Plus the constant hard fouls on Saka/Martinelli that go unpunished. Even if the ref is bent the linos have to be able to make the calls as they're mostly closer to the action on the flanks, but their flags always stay down. Infuriating.

oh and if it is true do these apologies work like the free sandwich/coffee promos where you get one free after like your tenth purchase. will we get 3 pts after 10 apologies? might come in handy in the future if we need those 3 pts to finally win the title.

What they'll do is they'll fail to award a pen in our favor that looks exactly the same as the one that Chelsea got against us. We'll hear that its an improvement because "what's he supposed to do with his arm?" Then the Twitterati will all laugh at us complaining because so many thought the Chelsea penalty was bullshit to begin with. It's a never ending cycle of shit.
