flobaba I was struck by how old Arsene looks now. Not to say he doesn't look good, of course he does - but I sort of think of his time here a bit like that film Synecdoche New York.
Not a film I loved, I have to say, but for those who haven't seen it Phil Seymour Hoffman plays an obsessive theatre director who spends his days endlessly tinkering with a play and basically gets old and dies, not noticing that his life passed him by whilst he was fucking around with that play.
(If anyone has seen the film and my synopsis strikes you as inaccurate, my apologies, it's been years since I saw it - once - and going back to check the details seemed antithetical to the point I was making)
