Dark arts on show, but Spain controlled the vast majority of the ball from the outset, and were much better off the ball when the match was there to be won, and England had no answer.

Gutted. A reminder of why it's so horrible watching Spain in men's. But no shame in losing the final 1-0 to the better team. I suspect 30 other teams would have taken it over where they ended up.

Disappointing outcome but Spain deserved that on the match. England just seemed to not have enough quality today and liked a bit desperate at times well before the latter parts of the game.

Wouldn't have thought Spain would win this, given that all their players were on strike and hates the coach. Incredible really. Shows that you actually don't need a coach if you all are good enough.

Claudius I used to watch the odd Arsenal women's match maybe 10 or so years ago. The goalkeepers were terrible, the pace of the game was much slower and the players technique and execution was nowhere near as good as now.

It is amazing to see the improvement in the game and I am sure it will only keep growing. Very enjoyable to watch now. Also agree that it is so accessible and crowds are nicer.

Wow what a Final. My son and I weren't sure who we would support so it was enjoyable to just go in and enjoy the game. I was wearing my Arsenal top in some sort of solidarity to my allegiances, after about ten minutes we looked at each other and said "we're supporting Spain". They were so good. Excellent technique and ability to get out of tight spaces. Just needed to be a little more direct in attack - it was peak Spain / Wenger in trying to pass the ball into the net.

And after watching the English shithousery against the Matildas it was sweet seeing them being on the receiving end. Lucy Bronze was losing her shit near the end, but if you dish it out etc etc. Apparently Mary Earps can move quickly when taking a goal kick.

Anyway, England had a fantastic tournament too and have a great bunch of players. Should be some great rivalry between the 2 nations if they get to play again.

Was quite obvious the Spanish girls coached themselves and organised themselves on the pitch. They won in spite of him.

It's telling he Vilda hasn't won a single trophy since 13 years ago and when he left the Spanish youth teams, they won almost everything.

Must have been a great experience. I had a resale ticket in my cart on Saturday and was almost going to do it but just couldn't justify the cost of the last minute flights with so many other commitments at the moment. I do know someone who went from Wellington though (same guy who went to the QF). Probably should have booked a trip to the final ages ago. Regardless of who was going to be in it, there's never going to be a WC final so close and accessible to here again.

Really enjoyable tournament and so good to have games on at good times in this part of the world - the last football tournament I can remember that being the case for was the 2002 World Cup in Japan/Korea. I went to 5 of the 9 Wellington games and regret not going to more. Proud of England making it that far given the key players who were missing from the Euros win (and I know for different reasons Spain also had players missing), but also really gutted as that may be the only time in my lifetime that we are in the WC final, men's or women's.

Yeah I have similar feelings that Australia is unlikely to make the last 4 of a World Cup again in my lifetime. We're a better chance in the Asian Cup but we're not up against as much quality.
