Erm no teenager has ever popped their ACL and then made it as a professional footballer. So it's not like you bounce back great. Theirs no good time to do it.

If you think of when Wenger talked about pires he talked about him as if he's a different person pre and post injury. Even though fans loved him so much they didn't see much difference.

Didn't van Horseface do his ACL prior to his move to Man United? He was great for them and even looked better for Madrid. I saw him do things in La Liga I never thought he could do

Yea he's a rare example. Bobby Robson rang AF told him to sign him because he's a freak of nature and Robson was getting Ronaldo at barca so didn't need him.

He wasn't a teenager though. Think Baggio might be the only one who did his ACL as a youth player and then went on to greatness. His knees were shit his entire career though and he popped both of them again later on. Still, imagine being the best player in the world despite 40% of your game being gone. The sheer amount of natural talent that guy had.

It testament to his quality that he's already developed into one of the best RBs around. He always looked better playing central to me. He's got similar strengths and weaknesses as Saliba IMO

Wasn't very impressed by him hist first 10-20 matches, but he is now one of the best rb in the world. Decent going forward, and one of a very few defenders you can put on Doue, Yamal, Musialah etc, and still feel confident he'll handle it just fine. Amazing defender.

This is really it for me. Yeah, he can go forward admirably (though White has better link up play with Saka), but when it comes to locking down a great winger, he has shows that he has that ability very well. I can only remember Kvara giving him the runaround in the first game of our CL Semi's last season, but Kvara is one of the trickiest wingers in the world, so thats hardly a surprise.

I know I'm two years behind you guys, but Timber has blown me away. I had no idea how good this bloke was and I wasn't ready for it. This is the player Real should have signed instead of Trent. He belongs in a World XI. Was he really this good last season too?

Klaus Trent was free. They like that. I doubt there was a chance for them to get Timber.

Klaus when he was fully fit, pretty much. but it looks like he's going to another level again. when he joined everyone assumed was another skilful, build up play defender. at some point in the last 12-18 months he casually added lock down defending and bullock-like strength to his repertoire.

Klaus when we signed him he was the best player in the Dutch league by a mile. That injury was a real tragedy because he would have been even better now.

Klaus A few of us are of the opinion that we would have won the league in 23/24 had he not done his ACL in the first game of the season.

He's insanely good. Best RB in the league, maybe world but I reckon Kounde and Hakimi run him close. Top 3 for sure.
