Mirth Could honestly put him against any wide player and you'd trust him to come out on top, Vin Jr is a live wire and didn't get a sniff against Timber over both legs. Against PSG Timber will again be crucial in shutting down Barcola/Doue.

Gazza M I think we can attribute some of these changes in the players we sign to coaching. I've no doubt we've absolutely drilled him on position and body shape, now he's like a bear trap for wingers.

I just love the nonchalance with which he plays. Does not get riled even when instigated. Opposing wingers get frustrated, push him, tackle late and he just gets up and makes them work harder.

Absolute warrior like performance - seeing him shut down Vini was a thing of beauty.

Will be interesting to see how does against Kvara who has more skill (more likely to feint in and out) than the likes of Vini and Mbappe.

Watching him deal with Vini Jr was so good, I have become far to used to Arsenal fullbacks being twisted inside out by top quality wide players but Timber is a different beast altogether. He doesn't go forward as well as Ben White but defensively against wide players he's on another level.

JazzG or I’m used to seeing our better fullbacks trading blows with wingers and battle it out for 90 mins e.g. Ben White.

We need to reassess that 23/24 summer window upwards. Managed to get 2 world class players + Raya + Havertz in there.

22/23 probably revises downwards though.

Mirth Jan 2023 we got Trossard, Kiowir and Jorginho who have all done alright and could play massive parts in the semi final 1st leg.

Rice certainly is. Raya is top tier, but not necessarily world class. He's not even the regular starter for Spain. Timber is well on his way if he keeps his trajectory. And he's only 23. Havertz is good, but not world class. All in all. that was a great window for incomings.
