Yeah I don't think it's a coincidence that he looked a lot better against Man City after only playing 25mins or so midweek. Can only hope we can start taking him off when games are won for ahem Sterling lol.

Qwiss people were advocating for Nwaneri to be given more minutes earlier this season, surely there's no reason he shouldn't be part of the equation now he has been exposed to the first team on a more regular basis?

As a push it to the byline and cross winger, Tierney is currently a better option than Sterling.

RocktheCasbah makes a lot of sense. Over time you can see him building up his stamina. He used to be winded early on in the season, and now he can play longer minutes. I expect he will start tomorrow against Newcastle.

He should have played more during Odegaards absence. That surely can't even be up for debate now.

We’re going to have to be very flexible in the frontline and now the ones that we have in our feet, make sure they stay fit and keep contributing. Leo can play in that position, Raheem has played in that position, Ethan I think can play in that position, Martinelli can play there so let’s see in relation to how everybody is; the moment and opponent, but at some point, we’re going to have to try something different.

Coombs he'll be really shit there.

His hold up play back to goal is poor. His first touch is often a chaser. He won't win many headers or flick ons. Only thing he might do about the same in comparison with Kai is pressing. We don't play in behind defenders either so his pace (what's left of it) is not going to be a huge factor.

Arteta is talking crap when he says he would want to use Sterling there also. Nwaneri might be an interesting option but not certain he can handle the physical demands of the role

His fitness and exposure has been steadily increasing over the season. The incremental approach is clearly working and he only had one setback which was when he played twice in like 3 days.

He might have (or not) been ready to handle playing in Odegaard's absence in November, I don't know. That is a lot of pressure and responsibility, but I trust that the management knew what was best for him when working directly with him.

flobaba what headers or flick ons will Nwaneri win? There are more ways to skin a cat. Martinelli can be a press monster as CF, and he can be technically more secure than Havertz, whose touch is extremely erratic.

I think it could unlock a whole new version of Gabi. Or rather, bring some of his attributes we used to see back to the fore.

Coombs for Nwaneri I feel like his touch is more assured, and we could play differently to suit him. False 9, dropping into space, not engaging centerbacks. Plus he's naturally stocky and strong, as opposed to Martinelli who i feel gets brushed off the ball almost as easily as Odegaard does during duels. I'm surprised you think Havertz touch is erratic as well. There's not many in the squad in my opinion with a first touch as consistent as his.
