Don Pacifico agree with this. He might do some of the basics but he's not a goal scorer and never will be it's exactly who he has been in his time in the prem. Which then puts us in the position of we still need a forward who can get the goals we need and we don't really want him on the end of the chances.

Ultimately I think this signing was a big mistep for the money we've paid given the challenges we had in the squad and what we knew about him before he came it didn't warrant that in my opinion.

goon he has the right presence for a 9 but his touch, finishing, etc are way off for him to be any sort of long term solution there. IMO he's our 3rd best CF, maybe 4th if you include Trossard and frankly we don't have a single CF who's worthy of leading the line for this club week in week out.

Qwiss I desperately want a killer forward. Only thing is within the league right now, there are only two difference maker forwards - Salah and Haaland. Everyone else is relatively compressed quality-wise. I wouldn’t break the bank for anyone in this league. I’m worried that whoever we would get at striker in the winter would get the same cool reception as, say, Havertz. Would rather the big forward spend happened in the summer.

Claudius As much as I'd love someone who can score like Salah or Haaland I don't think its a realistic prospect even in the summer, the only 2 players likely to give you a high chance at that are Mbappe and Osimhen. Seems impossible for us to get the former and highly unlikely to get the latter. We made our mistake last season not signing a striker and dropping so much money on Havertz. Thats going to keep haunting us.

I'd have Havertz as a striker option at the moment but not a starter. He can be a plan B unless he starts scoring more. I'm of the opinion there is little between our strikers in terms of effectiveness but they are all very different in style so go for a horses for courses approach until someone finds some goal scoring form.

Id like to persist with him a bit up top if we aren't signing a quality option, see if he can find a bit of form.. He will never be prolific and its not something I would want long term but I don't think there is much between him, Eddie and the current form Jesus..

For me, there ae a few additional benefits to it. It gets him out of midfield which has been real painful to watch, which free up Rice or others to get more game time there & it also means Jesus can be used as a viable rotation option on the wings, we are going to need a genuine 3rd option there in the second half of the season, and I don't see anyone else in the squad capable of it..

Those guys have even worse finishing and final balls than us.

Clrnc it’s not like we are overloaded in those areas. You have also said we don’t have enough defenders and are at risk of an injury crisis should any of the major guys have a big injury. We’ve had to redo the whole team because it wasn’t fit for purpose.

He’s tried Isak, Mudryk, Vlahovic and failed. He’s gotten Jesus. In that time our rivals other than City have signed Nunez/Gakpo, Sancho/Hojlund, Jackson/Mudryk/Sterling/Washington/etc., and Kuluseveski/Solomon/Richarlison/Johnson.

I’m just not seeing silver bullets in that group - other than maybe Kulu who was already on loan.

Claudius Nunez and Gakpo would both start for us and score more. Don't know what ETH did to Sancho but Hojlund is rubbish. Jacksons alright, I think he'll come good, generating a lot more xG than our lads. Sterling is quality, would be a brilliant addition. Mudryk was a lucky escape, only adds to my worry about Artedus ability to significantly bolster the attack. Spurs signings are mostly ok, not amazing. Most of these players still outscore Jesus and Havertz though.

Nunez would fit right into this club. I was watching the recent game with Liverpool fans, and they tore their hair out when Nunez fucked up an easy 2 vs 1 by passing the ball behind Diaz and later cut inside White and curled the ball outside the post. He's their wasteful donkey.

Gakpo is worse than Havertz. Can similarly score the occasional goal but on the ball is even more anonymous. 26 and 17 touches in 67 minutes against Burnley and Arsenal.

I don't disagree, they would score 'goals' here but the fans would hate on both of them.

daredevil I wouldn't want to sign either but they're still better than our options. Darwin is erratic but he's constantly a threat and does make a difference, 13 goals involvements in the league is better than any of our strikers.

Liverpool's forward line bar Salah is pretty average, however Klopp seems to be more focused on the energy players bring in, especially at Anfield. He always makes like triple subs at the 70th minute to keep things going is why they are probably the best at scoring goals towards the end of games.

For the most part these guys are fit and fresh and should be able to carry them through January, and then when Salah is back he'll get back to bullying premier league defences.

This is regulation management, the strange thing is how Arteta hates using his bench so much ... I wish he'd act a bit sooner.
