As bad as he was I still prefer to have forwards getting chances and missing them than not getting them in the first place.

Pepe LeFrits I get that but finishing is a key skill for a forward and on that front Kai is not consistent and not really a great forward where it counts.

Kai had plenty of chances but also plenty where he shouldn't be shooting in the first place. I generally want us to shoot more but coming in at the near post with the keeper clearly covering the post and you take a shot? Noni levels of poor decision making. Which is kinda odd because that's not the usual trait for Kai.

Pepe LeFrits oh yeah fair, I suppose we know he's not good enough in the forward area is what I meant so the criticism is less he messed up this time as that's just who he is he will miss too many chances because he's not a high quality forward.

He's looking worse this season than ever before for us maybe his first, anyways fool on us for renewing him anywhere close to his current wages

Football people (coaches and fans) are afflicted with severe recency bias.

Havertz will be shit this season but will have to perform for a new contract in the next one. He'll have a few months of playing out of his skin and may score 10-15 goals in a short span of time. He'll be hailed as better than Henry and earn himself two extra years of £400k pw or whatever it'll be.
