We obviously didn't care enough about them to push the boat. Contrast that to Rice for which we pulled out all the stops. We would have taken both for the right price but in a Vieira like project manner. No way was Mudryk expected to displace Martinelli, much like Trossard hasn't, who despite being a top signing is clearly second fiddle.
Likewise, Caicedo would have found arse on the bench because by all accounts Rice was still our number 1 summer target.
