The jist of this is basically, if you have a really effective way of playing football that depends on the availability of someone who - for whatever reason - has not been, and will probably not be, as available as you'd like, then you need to find a different way. They were discussing it on the Arsecast Extra this week, but it's about Partey being a single point of failure in the team.
His importance to us since signing has generally been, till this season anyway, the difference between winning and losing. As the level of the team has gone up, we've been less reliant on him - perhaps due to the fact that Zinchenko comes in from left back to act as an auxiliary central midfielder, or that Jorginho doesn't just come into the team and move the ball side to side endlessly.
It's going to be intriguing to see what we do this summer, because the midfield is definitely the area in need of an upgrade - I've already said elsewhere that Xhaka needs to be improved upon, but I'd be quite surprised if Arteta were to replace both him and Partey in one summer - there again, he is a ruthless bugger, so maybe..?
