Gazza M was thinking even if we have a beef up squad his mentality is always not to switch things. Trossard, Tierney etc is completely capable and he doesn't even try even against Soton. Early on when Tomi was in great form in Oct he never rotates as well and instead even chose him at LB to cover Zinny. He's just someone that doesn't change things

Clrnc he does have some soutgate tendencies to cleave to his favourites. so just buy him more favourites, is my guess. he is what he is and will probably do more weird shit, so the hope is we just boost the quality to make sure he doesn't have too many tough decisions to make

Gazza M I think the favourites thing is a massive hindrance and he needs to grow out of it quick. He talked about loyalty to the players that got him to this point but you have to be able to say to any player is that aren't in good form or the right fit you change for what the game needs.

I think the collapse over this period has really caused me to reasses this season for now. I don't know exactly where we are and probably won't until next season. We had a lot of last minute winners which aren't the norm so my worry is so we end up dropping more points like the Southampton and West ham. I'm not sure and Arteta has made some really poor managerial decisions in the last month.

Last few weeks you’ve heard relentlessly from former pros how intense the pressure is during the run in and how hard it is to manage. For this young side, it was ALWAYS going to be a challenge to come through that and it will be the same next season. This is not a problem unique to us.

To their credit, they started the Liverpool and West Ham games fearlessly, but they just couldn’t handle set backs such as conceding before half time, losing a 2-0 lead missing a penalty etc. It was like a switch turning THE FEAR on.

What’s disappointing for me is that I didn’t sense the likes of Xhaka, Partey or Jesus making their experience count. Not in the right manner. The two forming in particular crumbled as much as anyone.

goon Also, fatigued (both mentally and physically) is real. In both matches we turned up with fire and went 2 goals ahead, then couldn't keep up. Against City, in the 2nd half we could barely run till the subs came on.
