Kel Varnsen he has, but so have a few Arsenal players. We need to find a way to up the intensity while also maintaining some even-headedness.
The goal aside, I thought Gabriel was really good (and even then he was a little unlcuky).
Both of their fullbacks are on a yellow btw. Let’s keep up the pressure.
Burnwinter Do you mean Nelson?
I actually wouldn't mind having Eddie as a sub option today. Could help exploit a Liverpool high line late on.
Don Pacifico Guess I do, forgot Eddie was still injured.
I think we'll finish a bit stronger than them fitness wise, definitely would be good to bring Nketiah on for Jesus—who's been excellent—if we did have Eddie available.
Claudius the first 30 minutes were good, second 20 were terrible
Claudius Selective memory. This looks like the day he carried on versus City and then Gabriel got himself sent off. When Xhaka flips out the team flips out. He needs to screw his head all the way back on, now. Very glad we've still got a lead.
Also, the ref is such a homer. The amount of really obvious fouls on our forwards that he hasn't given is ridiculous.
their goal was just that little bit jammy
Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert
Is he really considered the best referee in the country? And if he's not, why isn't the best ref officiating this game ffs?
Ricky1985 none of them deserve that title. They're all scumbags and con artists.
Pepe LeFrits didn’t arteta do the same thing last year with his little spat with Koop?
FEBravo didn’t arteta do the same thing last year with his little spat with Koop?
Yes, very frustrating.
Quite obvious we lost our focus after Xhakas silliness. Arteta has a big call to make on his mindset now, he's a liability when he's in that mood
As an aside, 3 of Liverpool's back four have been booked. Martinelli and Saka need to keep at them.
We have been good. Outplayed them for most of the half.
White needs help. Been the weakest link this half Robertson constantly getting behind him and he is giving alot of balls away. They are targeting his side
Their goal was extremely flukey.
Either way, we're 2-1 up and 1 goal away from chaos. Revert to playing football and we'll close this off. Can't get stuck in the stupid games they're clearly initiating.
Would've been nice to be 2-0 up but that's that
Robbie Earle spot on. If Arsenal stick to playing football rather than getting drawn into the emotional noise, we'll win.
Coombs the crowd was extremely quiet after the 2nd goal went in till Xhaka went to rile them up for no reason. Liverpool had the edge after the crowd backed them.
Coombs that fair. It takes two to make a game though. I fully expect Liverpool to exploit the emotional aspect and overwhelm the ref. Hopefully sticking to our football helps navigate us through that cluster storm.
