We have seen a few highs without Odegaard on the field this season. He however remains critical to keeping our average level high. He is key to Arteta's football despite his lack of end product and sluggishness this season.

Loss-of-Controlball. Mikel has said before it's not intentional that we turtle up when defending a one goal lead, but he clearly doesn't know how to fix it. It's a mental thing and tough to do but it's something others have done so can't be impossible. Especially for a squad this talented.

Coombs I disagree. I think taking off Trossard when he did was absolutely crucial to us seeing out the game. Putting on Havertz instead of Jesus was the right thing to do as well. Norgaard we've all been crying out for but maybe we seen why he hasn't featured much in these moments. I honestly don't think he got that much wrong today. Even not making more subs made some sense. Saka was playing well and we weren't comfortable enough to add Noni in. No one else really stood out as a move to help things.

we're not controlling possession the way we used to either. our ability to ball hog and win the ball back quickly was a core tenet of controlball, but we just haven't been able to do it in 2026.

Player fatigue I suspect. The midfield has to be key to this and Rice and Zubimendi are both running on fumes. Eze has never been a pressing forward anyway.

Qwiss glad someone agrees with me. Mikel did not get the subs wrong there, though he should've had some on earlier. The stuff that's causing problems for us at the end of games needs to be solved before the players even get on the pitch.

I think we all know our style of play hasn’t particularly great and needs to improve but absolutely no acknowledgment that week in week out we come up against teams with dirty low blocks against us.

Also I really don’t care how we win it, we have spent the past 20 years being labelled pleasant on the eye but with no substance. Even a few years back when we were playing the most entertaining football in the league, finish second and get a pat on our head and told not quite good enough. Yeah fuck that, we need to win by hook or crook.

This is brilliant. Our social media team is top notch. Embracing "Set Piece/Corner FC" taunts by having our own Cornershop FC taking it to all corners of the world and beyond. So many small details in that video.

Arteta as the corner shop owner though they missed having Jover stacking the shelves.

I've been very critical of Arteta's style of football, but right now I'd be happy with going back to boring and safe control-ball. We have looked fucking terrible the last couple of games. No control, frantic defending, unable to even keep possession and establish any sort of dominance.
