Very interesting. Caicedo and Rice does stand out compare to the rest.

Rice transitional stats are very good, basically very good at running with the ball and press/recoveries, but not elite in either box.

Caicedo stronger in both attack and defence.

In pure defensive stats, Caicedo is a lot stronger.

Clrnc Caicedo is 21 too. His scope to improve is massive. He could be world class eventually, maybe. Rice doesn't have that potential.

Kel Varnsen He’s surprisingly a very good forward passer (with both feet), something you wouldn’t associate with a midfielder of his type. For example, I remember a Fabulous through ball for a Brighton goal around November/December last year (can’t remember the opponent and can’t be arsed to look it up).That quality, along with his top class ball winning ability make him a very interesting player.

Caicedo has played less than 30 premier league games and people raving over him putting him above Rice.

He's a good talent but 70-80m for a player who's not even played a season worth of league games for brighton.

IBL Chelsea will come back in for sure. obviously he wants to step up, but it's definitely a financially motivated move as well for his family. we'll need to move quicker than we did for mudryk, which means giving Brighton what they want, a cucurella-esque premium basically. 70m pounds + add ons or something close

That's so weird. Chelsea and to a lesser extent Liverpool have been chasing him for months. Chelsea already got 2 bids rejected and he didn't seem moved.

Now Arsenal comes in for him and his head is completely turned ffs. Handed in a transfer request and make it public to force Brighton hand. Arteta have absolutely gargantuan pull ffs.

Pepe LeFrits yeah but it was obvious he was forced to go to Chelsea and there were non footballing reasons for it. I thought him twerking to Arsenal was a one off, now Caicedo is doing it too.

And we just about only went in for him, at most this week and he's sold. Think we probably already tapped him up and agreed everything with his agents before we made that bid.

BTW he did confirmed a record transfer fee so our new bid was probably above 65m (Cucuruella)

wonder if there will be a bit of backlash from Brighton's execs. maybe not directly at us, mainly at his new agents. he only just signed with them, and those statements read like they've been drafted by his agents as well. we'll see how good our relationship is with brighton in the wake of these developments
