I see no reason why we shouldn't go for the win here with a strong line-up (within reason). We'll have a full week to rest and prep for Everton after.

That being said, with the players that will need mins you'll naturally get a lot of rotation anyway. Will be interesting to see just how much we change things up. The only players I'd fundamentally oppose starting are Partey and Zinchenko.

I'd personally go with:

Turner

Tomi - Holding - Kiwior - Tierney

Ode - Elneny - Vieira

ESR - Eddie - Trossard

Though tempted to put Saliba or White in there too.

Arteta will not rotate that hard. Substantial rotation also makes it harder for the new players to shine unfortunately. I think we see ₅ new faces

Need to put in a half decent side, we are in good form and the last thing we need is to be embarrassed here.

Keep more injury prone players like Partey & Zinchenko on the bench.

Fortunate to be one of the 7,000 that will be in attendance for this. Got the whole of that South Stand upper, so expecting a brilliant atmosphere.

I expect it will be a strong side given the 8 day gap to Everton. Rotate a few in that need minutes, and those out who looked on their knees at full time yesterday. Wouldn't mind the below, but would not be shocked if it's stronger.

Aside from that usually he swaps out the keeper, one of Gabriel/Saliba, and one of Xhaka/Odegaard. Nketiah usually starts in these games so maybe Trossard might be given a start but usually he keeps the wingers the same.

Claudius I don't know if Arteta will. I think he'll want to make a point against City and keep momentum and belief so really only like for like changes with similar quality. Its just a guess though, I wouldn't be shocked to see more changes.

That could go the other way though. Go all out, lose to their changed line-up and suddenly everyone is asking questions. On the other hand playing a mixed side gives you that little bit of protection against that.

If we want to make changes with minimal impact on style of play then something like this could work.

White - Saliba - Gabriel - Tomi

Vieira - Partey - Xhaka

ESR - Eddie - Trossard

Alternatively if we play one of Saka/Martinelli then I wouldn't mind seeing ESR in the 8 role either.

Almost got it spot on. Saliba or Gabriel was 50/50. Martinelli for Trossard was a possibility. Only surprise for me is Partey starting rather than Lokonga.

goon I'd be happy with that (apart from Tomi at LB) but I think Arteta will go stronger. He's almost always fielded strong teams in the FA Cup and while he rotated a lot vs Oxford I think he did that because he could. With no midweek games either side of this I can't see him dropping Odegaard and Saka.

Trossard in for Martinelli, perhaps Turner for Ramsdale, and I would imagine Tomiyasu starting. Not sure of any other changes....
