Burnwinter You're selectively quoting only part of my post and misconstruing what I say.
I didn't say he doesn't get the best out of Saka; I said he doesn't consistently get the best out of Saka. His numbers are way down this year compared to previous years. There was disruption last year through injury and form, both with Saka himself and within the wider squad, so I don't think this years' issues are a reasonable excuse. His productivity this year is about 1 goal/assist per 170-180 minutes, down from 1 in 100ish the last two years. It's not just a dip it's a significant change.
He's by far our best attacking talent yet the demands placed on him limit his productivity - I think that's fair to say in general though probably debatable to what degree. You draw the point about him being a superstar (no doubt) and saving our arse, and claim it evidently wouldn't have helped to sub him against Wolves. I don't agree it's as cut and dried as you assert, though I'll do you the courtesy of accepting a difference of opinion and not tell you that you have a skewed perspective. Fresh legs might have closed down Mane's cross/shot and prevented the goal and need for our arse to be saved - not that Saka was wholly culpable but he was certainly in an area you'd expect him to be impacting in an Arteta defensive structure.
Even assuming your point is not about the need for Saka to rescue a winner after going to 1-1, I'd question whether Arteta's methods are getting the best out of Saka by needing to keep him on to see out a 1-0 against the bottom team in the league. That somewhat speaks to your point about the only way being to have games locked down by halftime.
My point was not that Saka is not a superstar or Arteta doesn't know how to use him, it's that he doesn't consistently get the highest levels out of him, largely for two clearly stated and omitted reasons. If you believe we are seeing peak Saka week in week out then fair play to you.
