QuincyAbeyie True but I think if we had signed a player and even paid them less money as a replacement for Reiss Nelson probably would have cost us more. A shame he got injured last season, I think he can do a job for a decent PL club. A bit like Joe Willock has for Newcastle.

reiss didn't need replacing. an academy player could have accomplished the same things he did since he got paid.

even if arsenal valued him that low, porto coming in with that offer would make them reevaluate because that's a club that would then sell him for 50m next summer after paying the 27m obligation and laugh at us.

Qwiss Just like clubs know we are tough negotiators when it comes to buying players they also know we are hopeless when it comes to selling so they will lowball us. This is a really key area for us to improve on, we need to be able to generate a lot more money from selling than we currently do.

It must be reputational or something, because that's a piss poor offer for Kiwior. He's not far from being a starter for us - if we aren't getting at least 40m offers, then it's clear that clubs just want to take us for a ride.

We want €30m and they are saying €20m, Frankfurt are a smart club when it comes to buying. I think he has physical issues but he is a very good player otherwise and showed it in glimpses for us.

JazzG Stuttgart not Frankfurt. We can meet at around 23 and it will be fine, sell and get Eze. As for him, meh, nothing player, made no impact, do not care about him at all absolute trash tragic waste of money. He should do ok in Bundesliga.

JazzG but this is really poor, we've done this a number of times with players who really aren't all that to "protect" their value but encounter this sometimes we just need to accept the loss and move on.

€25m wouldn't be bad considering we paid €35 million. the €10m difference is the punishment for buying such a lightweight in the first place. even being able to recover that much shows how important wages are. he's not on big wages so more clubs can actually afford to match.

Still can't believe that, out of all the great talents from Primeira in the last couple years, we went for the smallest and weakest guy we could find who wasn't even the big talent in his own team. I mean if we actually sent scouts to Portugal, how the hell did they miss Nuno Mendes only to come back with a recommendation for this bloke? Or Vitinha, who in addition to having PL experience played for the same fucking club as Vieira?
