out of the 3 I'd like to keep Nelson. ESR is a permacrock and if he ever hits his peak would probably be too late in the career for us. Nketiah is done at the club. He can definitely do a job but we can find others who can do a job too.

Nelson is still too skittish on the ball. So much natural talent there but he's 24 and still looks hopeless.

Gets rid of the ball to quickly and too scared to take a player on.

To be honest he should be converted to an 8/10 because he likes to play quick, short pass and move.

Yeah, but the difference with Saliba was that he never played for us before going on loan, we were letting him become a little more 'seasoned' before bringing him into the team. Tierney has already been in the team and became a bit of a crock, and his style did not really match what Arteta wanted at LB. So, he's gone in the summer, almost guaranteed.

Tierney is just keeping his options open. And, whilst it looks bleak for him now (he can't stay fit for one thing), we have turned away from the inverting left back so he'd be silly not to say what he said.

Of course, he wants to make it known he is open to staying, but im pretty sure the club isn't at this point. He was useful in the short term, but we've moved on.

Bids will be considered for Aaron Ramsdale, Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Reiss Nelson

I guess if you weren't following us you might think any of this is unforeseen. Smith Rowe would be the only controversial departure ... there's no ill will for these guys and love for some of them, but they don't and won't play.

The real question will be whether Edu can scrape together even £50m from the sales of neglected absentees. £90m looks like the best case to me, but we never get near the best case. It's tragic that Smith Rowe, who might be a better player than Cole Palmer in a certain light, will probably leave us for £20m to a midtable club if he does.

The chaos merchants at Chelsea and United would do alright to pick up some of these players, I hope they get none.

Burnwinter Smith Rowe has done nothing of note for 2 years. It happens. We’ve seen similar declines of would be stars at other clubs and in other Arsenal eras, typically related to injury. It might be good for him and the fans to move on.

Claudius there isn't much decline and he should have played way more. He got a start a few weeks ago and was MOTM. He's had 11 minutes since. He's not been used properly.

Claudius Calling it a decline is a bit unjust, his career has been flash frozen. Needs to move on for his own sake at this stage, but he hasn't had a scrap of support or favour from Arteta for a long time and we don't have the full story about that. I don't doubt he'll look good for another club.

The other way to look it is all those players combined accounted for about 5-6% of playing time this season. That’s basically all of them worth half a spot per match. If we can flip them into something more useful, that would be good.

Qwiss exactly. If suddenly Arteta bench Odegaard for 2 seasons people will be saying he has declined and isn't good enough to play for Arsenal anymore.

There's always some made up reason to speculate selection basis. From Saliba being scared of the toxic crowd in Emirates which is why he needed to be sent out on loan, to Saka isn't ready for first team football which is why Willian is first choice etc. Over the years I have heard it all

Clrnc guess what... Arteta is playing every minute he is available and the team is competing for the title over two seasons. Come back to me with evidence of ESR playing every minute he is available in two title winning campaigns.

And please don't talk about fabrications on Saliba - you were one of the people who conjured up soap operas of how much Arteta hated Saliba. Saliba only came back to start every time he was available.

In the end we have some very basic facts to go on with ESR. We know he has had a groin surgery in 2022, and has experienced a lot of pain playing and this takes a long time to recover from. Those were the facts we had - but it quickly turned into Arteta hates the kid, Arteta doesn't support youth (despite having the youngest team in the league 2 years in row), etc.

If a title challenging team loses guys who are not playing, and replaces them with guys who will play, that should improve our chances of being able to get the consistency to beat this City team.

We'll probably end up selling ESR for 15m or so. And buy a replacement like Vieira for 40m, who isn't any better.
