Clrnc I wouldn't sell him for that either. If we were in no man's land and could use the money to further improve the team elsewhere, I'd probably have taken it. The way it is now, we won't get anyone better unless we want to prolong the 'project' by buying some wonderkid who might surpass him in the future, but will take us backwards in the present.

Clrnc I would only be up for shipping Gabriel if we were to go after Diomande from Sporting. A Diomande - Saliba pairing would be the best in the world in a short time and would stay that way for years (injuries permitting). I don't know if Arteta would want to have two right footed CB's playing next to each other but his potential is off the charts and probably the only young CB out there who is comparable to Saliba in my mind.

This is the crux of it. I wouldn't take Gvardiol over Gabriel for instance. Just like last summer I said I wouldn't take Martinez over him and I stand by that 100%.

Thought I saw somewhere that Fulham wouldn't be able to pay over 35 mil. Spurs have reportedly asked about Balogun and Ansu Fati. The Balogun stakes seem to be getting closer to a crescendo and the competition should hopefully help us get fair return.

If you think he’s going to be Harry Kane you don’t sell to anyone. He’s not going to be the next Harry Kane though.

In the end what matters is what helps us win. I don’t really care if he scores 20 goals and gets them 6th while we use the money to win us the League and CL double.

I'd sell Spurs a striker, but not Balogun if the margin is only £15m. Bad vibe, and you're creating a player whose entire existence revolves around, whose purpose in life is scoring against Arsenal.

Feels like even if he didn't step up, he'd still be coming at us like the Count of Monte Cristo in probably seven or eight matches over the forthcoming seasons. That cancels out £15m.
