Wirtz has been Liverpool's only decent player today to his credit, but the difference between Cherki and him is really illuminating. Cherki's in a wholly different tier as a player.
I don't think moving to Premier League was good for Wirtz's reputation, at least in the short-to-medium term, but you have to respect that he took the challenge. He could still end up a much better player for it in the longer perspective but I don't know if Liverpool is ever going to be a good environment for that development.
