Seems a really odd appointment.

They need someone who can craft a free flowing squad out of their wealth of young attacking talent. Martinez doesn’t strike me as capable or interested in doing that.

It also feels like a rushed decision, FFS the world cup just ended.

Anyone else seen what's been going on at Crawley? Sounded interesting at the start but the blokes behind the project seem a little clueless and out of their depth to say the least.

Noticed that our ex-coach Kevin Betsy got sacked not long into this season (and now happens to be working with Kolo at Wigan, where Azeez has just gone on loan).

There was a lot of optimism in the summer with their approach. Seemed they looked to take the Brighton/Brentford approach too with analytic/betting backgrounds (there’s many more involved with the ownership, including some who work in NFL analytics). It all soon disappeared. Seems they’re set to appoint the Swindon manager (who’ve really turned their own fortunes around the last season and a half), so the investment must still be there.

The bonuses of headers won/tackles made etc. is an interesting one really. Very much an American sport approach to bonuses.

John Yems, their former manager, has just been banned for 18 months too after being found guilty over racism charges.

Yeah, I think I read a piece about a while back and it sounded like a really interesting concept but the execution has clearly been poor. Shame really, particularly for Crawley fans who now probably feel very vulnerable.

Just have to look at a club like Charlton, who were so elated to finally sell the club to new owners, and already there are questions being asked about them. Probably at a point where ‘fit and proper’ just means someone is willing to stop a Macclesfield or Bury.

Antony is mostly underwhelming when I watch him, but he's had a few crackers already.

Clrnc yup, and now we're deciding we need another midfielder cuz of Elneny's injury when this guy was available for 20m. Oh well.

Kolo given just two months at Wigan. Sacked already. Ridiculous really.

Not surprised. Reportedly he lost the dressing room after losing 5 out of his first 6 matches, conceded 4 goals in 3 of those.

Really not suited to be a manager it seems, certainly not ready yet

Clrnc — what match were you watching (for Danilo)?

What a shame. Hope he gets a shot somewhere else. To be fair, Wigan sound like a really challenging environment to be airlifted into at the moment, not sure it was the best starting point for his career.

    MistaT Carabao vs United.

Very good passing between the lines, always looks forward. Great under pressure, good range of passing and one touch. Even though rusty and lacks match fitness on his first start you can see the immense potential there especially his interception and tackling.

We probably gonna buy this Fernandinho regen for 60m next summer. Edu has a good eye. Bruno G and now this.

Yeah that’s a great looking match.

      Thanks for sharing.

He won’t be at Forest for very long going by that.

It's very weird when we're seemingly after players like Bruno and this guy, can get them if we want and then just don't.

Weird why we opted not to buy him. At that price there didn't seem to be too much risk. Especially in hindsight when we're now desperately scrambling for any decent midfielder and they all cost 60-100m.
