When he first started I remember him doing really well but he's had a lot of mixed performances since then.

JazzG He is actually quite talented, but he seems to have lost his way over the last few seasons. He was Barça’s secret weapon for neutralising Vini — they would move him to RB, and the Brazilian always seemed to have a tough time playing against him.

I think he started losing confidence against PSG (??). He got sent off in a match Barça were dominating and looked on course to win the tie, but his red card completely swung the match in PSG’s favour, and they went on to knock Barça out. He hasn’t been the same since.

I might be imagining this, but I vaguely remember him flying out to Israel following a cock-up against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season or the season before 😂

A change of environment might do him good and help him regain his confidence.

Sounds like they are struggling to sell the likes of Camavinga who don't want to move. Funnily enough I think them resigning Vini Jr is a lose lose for them and for us, they don't really need him and Mbappe is better when playing off that side. They could have asked for £135m and I reckon we'd have paid it, allowed them to sign Rodri easily.

That's what I've been saying about it being an incremental battle until a stage when the Premier League wins a lot more of these tussles.

Madrid and Barca are still cashed up, but they'll eventually have to part with more superstars to clubs other than PSG. The PL would already be there if the top English clubs didn't need such ridiculous squad depth. But you can see from Madrid's attitude there remains an intangible but real value to them not losing these contests.
