I just can't believe United. Is there any other club that keeps repeating the same mistakes to this degree with such massive stakes involved?

Nothing from signing Højlund was learned when they signed Zirkzee, and nothing from signing Zirkzee was learned when they now sign Sesko. They're going after Donnarumma too which shows they didn't learn squat from signing Onana either. It's gonna be great to watch them struggle to get into Conference league when their fans think they're about to challenge.

We do - signing numerous LB’s with dodgy injury records. Tierney, Zinchenko, Calafiori.

Box crashing left 8’s who offer little on the ball (perhaps by design). Havertz and Merino.

Buying players with the aim of using them in positions they don’t play in. Havertz and Madueke.

Their campaign last season felt like ours in 21/22.

Estevao looks like a huge talent.

Watched them last night against Leverkusen and they blew them off the park, so fluid and so many high level technical attackers who connect well. Estevao looked like he was going to do something every time he got the ball. Think they'll finish comfortably in the top 4.

Sicario2 I watched PSG last season, and their fans were about a week away from throwing stones at Donnarumma. He's been shit for them aside from the occasional big game. That's why the first thing they did this summer was to replace hinm. He's a bad keeper who comes with a big reputation, just like Onana. It's going to end the same way, just watch.

Probably true to some degree. Although to be fair this was something Wenger's great teams were famous for too. Kolo was a midfielder, Petit was a centreback, Henry was a winger, etc. Cole was a striker at youth level. Lauren was a DM. Even Pires and Ljungberg were central-attacking midfielders who turned into the league's best wingers.

With Havertz and Madueke I think the concern is more about their level than them being used in a different position. I don't reckon many people would complain if Eze comes and play on the left wing for instance.

Klaus I disagree. I’ve seen this cat win his sides the Euros and CL. Sounds a bit like Emi Martinez in that he leaves his best for big games but nothing wrong with that imo as long as his baseline doesn’t suffer too much.

Some of the saves he made against was out of this world and don’t forget he’s only 26/27 so still super young for a keeper.

JazzG Yep, the luck of the Arse. Typical us. He had a blinder against Arsenal but in the tie right before he made a bunch of howlers and nearly knocked them out. I scan a few subreddits regularly to get a better feel for teams when I bet on football, and all their fans are convinced he's the weakest link in the team. Seems like an unambitious sort too: he refused to move this summer even though he'd been replaced because he didn't want to lose out on his monster wages. Turns out only United are dumb enough to pay them. They're repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Klaus the supergoalie curse has been with us since the early 2000s. I remember plenty of times we couldn't score against the likes of Fulham at home despite giving them an absolute battering.

Panda If Isak has any sense here, he'd say pay me a fat signing on bonus + £300k a week and stick a £120m clause for next summer. Newcastle save face and don't look like they've been bullied and can plan better for next summer, they'll get a substantial fee, Isak get paid a fuck load and there will be plenty of sides after him next summer as well.

JazzG I think that's what's going to happen too. Gives Barca a year to figure out how to solve their finances and then he ends up back in Spain rather than playing for a direct PL rival. Everyone wins on that deal.

Klaus Next summer we might be back in for him, depending on Gyokeres does and we might want to move Havertz on, Barca will be thinking about replacing Lewa. Maybe PSG might fancy a change up top depending on how Dembele does and then Bayern might be planning for life after Kane as he'll be 33. Liverpool as well will probably still hold a strong interest in him. Maybe Real Madrid will dump Vini Jr, put Mbappe on the left and need a CF as well.

Isak will be 26 next summer, top clubs will see him perfect as he'll be entering his peak and will have plenty of options.

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert It looks like a curse but it's mainly down to poor finishing. You give a goalie a few easy saves(especially from good scoring opportunities), make him feel good and next thing you know he saves everything.

That's also one of the reasons we've always found it easier to score the second or third goal in the past few seasons.

est true. I don't think you could ever associate Arsenal with being lethal, clinical, efficient killers. Even when we used to win titles.
