Isak gives you an ability to play in anyway because he's so rounded which is rare. Also Isak has dominated the top CBs in the league because he's elite. It's like when RVP left us whoever he went to was going to win the league. He had everything.

Isak is a far better fit for our team than Gok. Gok would have been absolute fire under Klopp. If we had an option of both and it was just 30m more for Isak we'd have bitten their hand off.

Isak has all the skill, size, talent... His biggest issue is durability. Pool will have a pretty demanding schedule this season (obviously), so i could see him breaking down at some point. Probably right when Salah goes to AFCON.

Speedster I dunno, it makes sense on paper, but it's not my experience from watching them. Gyök is better at the stuff Isak is supposed to be great at too despite not having a silky touch. He's the one unlocking low blocks by driving at them. The few goals Isak scores for Sweden for example are either statistically inefficient belters or chances that Gyökeres creates with his dribbling.

I think the most dangerous forward is still the player who relentlessly drives at opponents at speed. I'll take Suarez over Isak any day personally. A player like that will either get a penalty or force someone on the wrong foot. Contrast this to how defences are way too comfortable letting Arsenal kick the ball around outside the box because we don't head straight at them. Liverpool won the league after they sold Coutinho who held them back by channelling too much attacking play outside the danger areas.

Klaus yeah I think people underestimate how much more space you get playing for Newcastle than playing for Arsenal. Not that I don't rate Isak, I do, I think he's brilliant but I'm not sure where this "he's amazing against the low block" stuff is coming from because not many teams approach Newcastle like that. If anything he's better away and against the big teams than facing teams who've arrived at St. James' Park to sit and soak up pressure.

I agree with Speedster, Isak could be huge for Liverpool even if he's only 75% available. Mind you, they already have an Isak lite in Ekitike who would be the perfect replacement. I really hope Newcastle hold firm and show Liverpool the middle finger.

I dunno if folks have forgotten how good Isak is, we have seen Gabriel and Saliba routinely pocket top class forwards (including the monster that is Haaland) over the years, but the one player that consistently makes them look like Titus Bramble is Isak. He's just different class.

I am waking up every morning hoping to see an article saying he has signed a new contract at Newcastle.

And he eats van Dijk for toast in the same way he eats our CBs. Nobody else does that.

I don't think he's as ready for war as Gok every week though as he's naturally nonchalant in interviews and on the pitch. And rachets up performances for the big games. When he wants it's he's unplayable. And if he's chasing a title and turns up like that all season. Liverpool will be absolute fire.

Think people see it more as

Option 1: Isak signs for Liverpool, Newcastle sign Sesko, Liverpool run win the title with us missing out.
Option 2: Isak stays at Newcastle, United buy Sesko, Arsenal have a better chance at catching Liverpool, and United won't be amywhere near us in amy case.

Personally I don't even care that much about them buying Isak as long as it is for an astronomical fee that hurts them in the future. I'm of the opinion that he'll probably miss a large chunk of the season with Liverpool struggling without any of Diaz, Nunez and Jota available to them anymore.

Big Willie good points but Ettike, Wirtz and Isak are much better than their outgoings and net puts them stronger

Big Willie I do think there is too little talk about what Liverpool are losing. Apart from Isak if any of their other new attacking signings matched what Diaz offered last season they'd be deemed a success. The loss of Trent is massive as well, he's such a unique player and so creative from deep. That's a big gap in their side now as none of their CMs can really make thins happen like that. I think that Liverpool defence is going to be a weak spot this season too. I'm really surprised they are throwing everything at the attack and not signing a centre half.

Yeah it was. Always felt them losing Diaz, Nunez and Jota would have been an issue for them if they ended up buying just Isak, Ekitike and Wirtz. This is what I thought at the time:

Qwiss It's coming from watching him play. He's extremely comfortable in confined spaces, I have watched him live. You can play him to feet in crowded areas and he can still make something happen, we have seen him bully Saliba from a long punt from their Gk/CBs, and he's also deadly when played into space. He's simply a complete footballer IMO.

That is the key test for a top player imo. How they do against the top defenders, Isak has given our CBs and VVD absolute hell in recent years.

I've seen some say Gyokeres is better than him, clubs are not stupid and fans always think they know better. There is a reason why he is going for over £120m and apart from us no top club was in for Gyokeres.
