Newcastle were actually always interested in Ekitike. I remember a lot of stories that he was close to a transfer to Newcastle from Reims before he moved to PSG, which was also around the time of the PIF transaction. I agree that it would be a great transfer for Liverpool - I thought we were not in for him because of the price tag (100M was the quoted figure I thought) but 85M doesn't seem so bad if we are paying 75M for Gyokeres.

Biereth has scored more goals for Monaco than Balogun despite being there for 1.5 less seasons. Seems like we sold Balogun for a good fee now and Biereth for a shitty one (which I thought at the time anyways).

Asterix it's precarious. I'd certainly be concerned if I were a Brentford fan. If they start the season off poorly, they need to find someone more experienced than Andrews.

I'd be worried it's a set piece coach who's overseeing the use of funds from all these sales ... except they've got Phil Giles who's been there for years and must have a plan for the cash. They must rate Andrews highly too.

Andrews is a weird choice but they obviously know him well and have a lot of belief in him. Its going to be very tough for him losing so many players but I suppose that's the job at Brentford. If the promoted teams are as bad as last season he'll be ok.

Really want them to stay up so hopefully they can make some smart signings they brought in Henderson to replace Norgaard so pretty much a like for like lol.

Looks like they want Hutchinson as their Mbeumo replacement. Think they should go for McAtee as well though no idea if they have been linked. They signed Kelleher too who I rate.

I think they will want to keep Wissa for another year once they sell Mbeumo as goals are the hardest to replace.

Panda agree on Wissa. He's a solid goal scorer and they can't really afford to lose Mbuemo and him at once.

Panda I don't think United will get top 6. Top half should be considered decent progress for them.

Looks about 56 when he runs too. I know it's just his running style but it looks funny as fuck. You think "Who the hell is that old man out there??" It reminds me a little of Håkan Mild, who to be fair was an amazing runner. Only person to ever register 19.2 on a beep test but he looked like he'd had two knee replacements every time he was chasing down a ball.

Insane fee at any rate, but he'll improve them no doubt. He's easily an upper table player even if I think he won't get near his output from last season again. For United who are the 15th best team in the country it's a clear improvement. They should finish 10th at least next season if they keep this up.
