Wirtz is a good player but a lot of the time good players don't end up being what they were supposed to be. You need a system, a vision and a coach to utilize them properly (and on top of that, luck with injuries and the mental development of the player etc). Think all three are lacking at Arsenal if we're strictly talking about Wirtz.
What made Liverpool win this year wasn't their extraordinary playmakers anyway, it was that they had a player who stepped up and scored goals in the decisive moments. Just get that player. The rest will fall into place quickly. If you start by removing the obvious bottlenecks it's easier to see what actually needs to be improved. Wouldn't be surprised if Martinelli has the season of his life playing alongside a proper striker who can overload the flank for instance. Right now there's a lot of focus on what he can't do and not enough on what he can do. Sign of a malfunctioning attack.
