Hard disagree on any takes slating Savio and while I would agree that Grealish hasn't been awesome the past few years, he's still miles ahead of Doku in terms of playmaking. We would've won that game if they didn't bring on Grealish. He was the only one who found half spaces in our low block in the second half and immediately made me nervous since he tried taking guys on and unlike Doku, could actually do something if he managed to beat his man. He clearly recognized that we were slow to react on the short corners and pounced on it to get into the half space that ended up resulting in their goal.
Savio had more goal contributions last year than Doku had in the previous three seasons combined. He's far more output oriented than Doku, who is a glorified Youtube trick dribbler. If he didn't play for a City feeder club, he would've gone for 2-3x what they paid for him this summer. He was awesome in La Liga last year and a huge reason why Girona was so successful. I think output in young wingers is a big indicator of future success and I am disappointed he ended up at City.
