We were not bad until their second but yeah, blessing in disguise to be out. This fringe side has no chance of winning. Not sure why we played Hein, probably the reason we lost.

Serious concerns about Sambi and Vieira and their ability to contribute. Maybe they’ll do better with the first team but the difference when the first team guys come on is so stark. Sambi in particular looks completely shot of confidence.

Main positive was Nelson, really bright. Created a few shooting chances for others.

Because at 1-1, we had Nketiah hit the post, and then two great chances (Nelson header and Sambi shot). Either of those goes in and we likely win, and when they don't.....well, you've lost it.
Good to see some sense of life from Nketiah. Interesting that both goals came from the left channel where he's been making some sub appearances at.
Whole back line looked out to sorts for their 2nd and 3rd goals.

Nah the cup, should and could have won the game.

Holding is a big issue with the back line, he commits and fails to win the ball regularly and then creates an overload for the opposition. Doing it all season.

Saliba was absolutely sublime on the other hand. Brother our best defender and midfielder.

agree on sambi/vieira. I still have high hopes for vieira, he has some amazing passing in his locker. sambi I'm less sure on. the combined 50m spent on them probably could've been better spent on a more definitive purchase in midfield

Was at the game - everyone bar reiss and Saliba were poor.

It’s a minor miracle our b team won their EL group.

Less fixture congestion I suppose but disappointed.

Need to loan Vieria in Jan.

I think most people would be fine with the result as long as we were Top 4. In fact, I’d probably accept the result even more if we were 4th/5th than 1st.

It’s fine but as long as we remember trophies are important. We went 9 years without winning one so I don’t take them for granted. Will be 3 years and counting soon if we don’t win anything this year. The longer it goes the harder it gets, look at Spurs ffs

(Last year different granted as top 4 much more important context wise).

But we can’t keep sacrificing them forever.

Well, well. Sounds like it could've gone in a different direction if Hein hadn't embarrassed himself for the penalty.

The team we fielded was pure rubbish, that starting line-up would lose regularly in the league so it's no surprise we got found out a bit by an organised and motivated Brighton.

Just looking at the numbers for shots taken and shots on target.

Our ratio is about 6 shots for 1 on target. 4 on target for 1 goal indicates when we do get a shot on target it normaly isn't too difficult to save.
By contrast BHA had 13 shots for 4 on target, and 3 goals scored with 1 being a penalty. Take the penalty out and it's a 1 in 4 ratio and a goal in open play every other shot on target.

Yes I realise this was very much a B team but it's been a pattern for some time. N Forest is the only time we have scored more than 1 goal since LFC = 9 games.
I want a goal scorer in Jan regardless of position played.
